island into turning lanes to accomplish what they thought was better vehicular
movements going in and out of all the properties along Marshall Road. The Planning
Board told them that the Board wanted to keep the islands the way that they presently are.
The new submission is a conceptual plan showing the islands, new landscaping and a
new traffic pattern. Mr. Sarchino stated they added in a landscaped island – similar to
what is existing. The travel lanes are still 11 ft. Mr. Paggi stated he had four comments
that he did not memoralize in a letter – (1) island should be shortened by about 20 ft. , (2)
the 15 ft. for each driveway for the mobil homes should be widened to 18 ft. – Mr.
Sarchino stated that Mr. Kortright (property owner) had requested 15ft. and Mr. Morris
asked if 15 ft. would be acceptable to the Fire Chief and Mr. Paggi stated it may be not –
it is just a general comment for discussion, (3) the first island shown on the map should
be shortened and (4) drive aisles should be 12 ft. and the first stacking center aisle should
be extended and center aisle should be 10 ft. – Mr. Sarchino stated he agrees with Mr.
Paggi’s comments.

Ms. Greig’s comment letter dated April 1, 2008 ( a copy which is on file in the
Planning/Zoning offices) was discussed. (MICHELE’S COMMENT #1 – Mr. Sarchino
stated they kept it the same as the dead end road – they have not heard of any problems –
it seems to work – Mr. Caldara stated he does not see any problems – they just mimicked
what was there – (MICHELE COMMENT #2) – She feels there should be a sidewalk on
the East side (right side where residents are)of the road – Ms. Van Tuyl stated there is no
sidewalk there now – it does not fit in with their plans – they do not think it is
appropriate, necessary or required and it runs contrary to what they are trying to do with
the screening – if they put in a sidewalk there would not be enough room for the
proposed landscaping (they will be presenting a landscaping plan next month), and Mr.
Sarchino pointed out that the sidewalk leads to nowhere. Ms. Greig pointed out that the
proposed sign will need a variance for being an off premise sign, (TALKED ABOUT
FENCE) and finally plan must be referred to Dutchess County Department of Planning
for 239M review.

Trustee Cerino stated he was concerned with the width of the road being wide enough to
accommodate the Village’s Fire apparatus and Mr. Morris stated he would be referring
this to the Fire Chief for his comments and he also stated that some of the other
businesses on Marshall may want to pursue a sign on Marshall Road.

Mr. and Mrs. Niznik owners of Lee’s Auto Body stated they were a bit shocked about a 6
ft fence being installed and they do not want to be hidden. She was also concerned
about the gatehouse being proposed – she stated people driving might only think that the
only thing in the rear is the Riverbend project – they are having a hard enough time now
because there is not even a Marshall Road sign there. Mr. Sarchino stated that they
would propose to eliminate the fence along the Lee’s Auto Body property line and
replace it with some type of low shrubbery. Mr. Morris asked the Niznik’s if that
satisfied their concern and they stated yes it did. Mr. Sarchino went on to state that they
have also created a new driveway going into Lee’s property that is 24 ft. wide. Mr.
Niznik stated for 16 years they have been pulling in and out of the property (they have
