A special meeting with officials from the Town of Poughkeepsie wag <br />held on April 27, 1977 at 7:00 O.M. in the American Legion Hall. <br /> <br />Present: Mayor Symnett~ Tr. Lawrence~ Tr. $tlvestri~ Tr. O'Rourke, <br />Tr, Schinella and Atty. Lyons. <br /> <br />Town of Poughkeepsie: Supervisor Buchholz, Engineer Kelley~ Councilman <br />Quimbay Heotzler & Councilman William Sedore. <br /> <br />Purpose of the meeting was to discuss the sewer contract. <br /> <br />Engineer Kelley reported the Town of Poughkeepsle was in a bind and they <br />had another proposal but not enough money to support same at the present <br />time. He stated that, due to the delay in Tri-Municipal, they had ~o <br />do something for their customers in the south end. <br />Mr. Kelley reported the following commercial parcels have expressed <br />their desire to connect to the Village line: <br />Arthur Treacher~ Flelshman's, Rosenbaum's, $chofield, Culligan and <br />the Nine Mall which would total 35,130 gals. per day and 124 residential <br />units. <br />He stated they proposed to construct a holding tank of 24,000 9allbn <br />capacity and discharge the tank contents to ~he Villa ge system at off <br />peak hours (11:00 PM to 6:00 AM). Mr. Kelley reported Culligan is not <br />included in the tank size since it has its o~n holding tank and cand <br />discharge at designated times. He stated that at the current rate Of <br />$55.00 per house~ per year, 124 addltinal connections' could yield <br />$6620. per year. <br />Mr. Kelley reported the following existing usegs as of last quarter: <br />319 single family housesl 16 school equivilant; 6 Dorchester equivilantl <br />9 Lamplighter equivilant for a total of 350. He stated the following <br />was paid to Village, per contract, last quareer: 1/4 x350 x $55.= $4812. <br />Sears': $2062~ Total: $6,874. Yearly cost: $27,500. <br /> <br />Engineer Kelley reported Town was in the process of changing their <br />sewer ordinance as billings were based on the average household use. <br /> <br />Atty. Lyons reported agreement covering South Hills Mall was included <br />under the contract with the Town of Poughkeepsie. <br /> <br />Eng. Kelley reported {ddilions would effect flow at the plant but not <br />the ~ydraulic operation. <br /> <br />Atty. Lyons reported contract was'written for a flat sum in any.quarter <br />provided the Town doesn't prove fewer connections. He said contract <br />was equivilant to 400 connection~ unless the Town could prove otherwise. <br />Atty. Lyons reported ~here was an escalator clause which would cover <br />increased costs in the mintenance of the plant and we could charge <br />a proportion of the increased costs. <br /> <br />Tr. Schinella inquired if the Disposal Plant could handle an additional <br />35,000 gals per day and Atty. Lyons replied we would need an engineer's <br />determination. <br /> <br /> <br />
