An Informational meeting was held on 5an. 23, 1978 at 7:30 Pi4. in <br />the American Legion Hall for the purpose of discussing the possibility <br />of bringing in more doctors to serve the con, unity. <br /> <br />Mayor Synnett, Tr. Lawrence, Dr. Brannan, Dr. Golding, Dr. Scafuri <br />and Dr. Brown. <br /> <br />~4ayor Synnett reported Doctors Con° had been formed lO yrs, ago <br />and there was Federal funds available for this type of program. <br />He inquired as to what we had to offer and suggested using a <br />portion of the Central Dutchess Nursing Ho~e for a clinic. <br /> <br />Dr. Scafuri reported some type of bldg. was needed. <br /> <br />Dr. Btu.. reported funds might be available and suggested contacting <br />Dr. Stami who was familiar with the Health Systems Agency. <br /> <br />Dr. Brown reported we would have tO provide an attraction for young <br />practioner and money was not a problem, but the envirornaent. <br />He inquired if the Village would have enough patients for this demand, <br /> <br />Discussion followed on the functions of the Fishkill ~edical Group. <br /> <br />Dr. Brown reported space was no problem and suggested providing a portion <br />of the doctorts salary. <br /> <br />Tr. Lawrence suggested placing an advertisement in a ~edical Journal. <br /> <br />Dr. Brown reported we could use the services of the Lions Club or <br />the Jaycees as we would have to lake a new doctor feel he was a <br />part of the co~munlty. <br /> <br />~ayor Synnett reported he will work on making up a brochure as to <br />what is available in the community and possibly conduct public <br />hearings. <br /> <br />Dr. Brown reported they had <br />schools, churchs, hospitals, <br />all important attractions. <br /> <br />better include housing developments, <br />social activities, etc, which were <br /> <br />Dr. Brannan reported they had enlisted the services of a nurse <br />practioner and Village should 9et a list of the ~erits in the <br />community. <br /> <br />D~. Scaffuri inquired as to the possibility of providing a vehicle for <br />hoese calls and recommended running a survey in the newspaper as <br />to the need for a doctor. <br /> <br />Dr. Brannan inquired if any complaints had been received as <br />to waiting for appointments or night office hours and Tro Lawrence <br />reported he didn't know of any. <br /> <br />Discussion followed on the need for a program to entice people to <br />COme intO the area or adopt new codes. ~D~~, ~ <br />Suggstions previously discussed to be investigated furthezo <br /> <br /> Village Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
