A Public Hg, on proposed local law #4 entitled "a local law p~ohibiting park- <br />ing on a certain section of Franklindale Ave. between intersection of Frank~ <br />lindale Ave. with $o~th Ave. & Elm St. was held on 2-12-86 at ?:10 P.M. at <br />Village. <br /> <br />Present: Acting Mayor Costa, Tr. Graco, Tr. Cioppa~ Tr. Komornik, Tr. Schinella, <br />atty. Reilly & Treasurer Campilii. (Mayor Synnett absebt due to illness). <br /> <br />Atty. Reilly opened hearing and asked who was in favor of proposed law~ <br /> <br />Mrs. Laffin, resident of Franklindale Ave.~ reported there was a problem at <br />i~tersection of South Ave. and Franklindale Ave. <br /> <br />Tr. Ciovpa read proposed law. He stated there may be a problem at corner but <br />none down the street. He reported this might effect some businesses but was <br />being done as a safety factor. <br /> <br />Hr. Thomas Laffin~ resident of the street, reported businesses in the area <br />would be affected§i~should one side of street parking be inttia~ed. He also <br />reported eliminating pak~ing in certain sections would create problems on <br />other areas in the steeet. <br />Mr. recommended enforcing the No Parking Here to Corner ordinance-be-e~e~ee4 <br />and the sign which was knocked down be replaced. <br /> <br />Mr. Marino~ businessman on the street, reported change would create a hardship <br />as he needed parking spaces for his customers. <br /> <br />Mr. Scianna, owner of a business and residence on the street, reported there <br />was no place to park and urge~ No Parking Here to Corner sign be replaced. <br /> <br />Mrs. Laffin reported they always had probless with cars at the corner. <br /> <br />Me. Nelson~ owner of Tri-County Maintenance on the street, reported there <br />were three buslnessess on the street and same was narrow at the corner, He <br />stated that, if they took away parking~ cars would have to park elsewhere on <br />the street.. Mr. Nelson recommended installing the No Parking Here to Corner <br />sign.and everyone present from the street was in favor of this recommendation. <br /> <br />McCord reported signs would be enforced by the Police Department. <br /> <br />Tr. Schinella reported Villag was very lax in enforcing laws on that street <br />and sidewalks were also being blocked. He recommended a study be made of <br />entire street and same be referred back to Legislative Comm. for study. <br /> <br />Public Hg. closed 7:20 P.M. <br /> <br /> <br />
