A Public Hearing was held on Wednesday, August 13,1986 at 7:15 p.m. <br />at the Village ~11 on Spring Street on proposed Local Law #6/86, amending <br />Chapter 12 of the Village Code re Garbage, Ash, & Rubbish. <br /> <br /> Present: Mayor Synnett, Trustees Alfonso, Greco, Kc~ornik, Silvestri, <br />and Todaro, (Tr. Schinella being on vacation); also present Superintendent <br />Herring and Attorney Vigiotti. <br /> <br /> The Village Attorney explained that the purpose of the proposed law <br />was to clarify the fact that sanitation collection was a ~service provicIed <br />to Village residents and was not intended to encc~pass garbage and refuse <br />generated outside the Village limits. <br /> The Mayor stated that with increased carter costs there We~e~a_ <br />number of incidents where individuals who did not reside in the village <br />bringing in refuse and dumping~it in the Village, which besides being <br />unsightly increased costs to the Village. <br /> <br /> -there being no om'm~mnts frc~' the public at this time, the public <br />hearing was continued open, °while the regtllar agenda was followed. <br /> <br />Minutes: <br /> <br /> Minutes fr~n the previous2regularly scheduled Board meeting of July 9,1986 <br />having ~cn ditributed to the Board, -Motion by Tr. Greco, seconded by Tr. <br />ToMato that the minutes be approved -carried. <br /> <br />Veatch St. access to the school ~rounds: <br /> Tr. Todaro reported that he was awaiting response fr the school district <br />to a letter sent. -matter deferred at this time, pending reply frc~ WCSD. <br /> <br /> -M~cting scheduled with Assessor Walker for Wednesday, August 20th at <br />7:00 p.m. <br /> <br />Berkeley Sq.: <br /> <br /> Mr. Chas. May addressed the Board, sta~ng that they had been to the <br />Planning and Water Boards and had previously discussed the project with the <br />Village Board. He advised the Board that at this time they were in discuss- <br />ions with Mr. Russ of T&R Developmmnt3hin reference to a joint hydraulic <br />study. He said he was under the impression that the Tri-Municipal project <br />would have sufficient capacity to eleviate any concerns re sewer, but that <br />he would need more information in_~tha~ regard frc~ the C~,,~.~ssion and asked <br />if the Board could provide that information. <br /> <br /> Tr. Greco said it was premature for the Village Board to become involved <br />at this time, and that the Environmental Assesmnent Fora had ~--~n received <br />and forwarded to the County Planning Dept. for review. <br /> <br /> Tr. Alfonso said he would be in touch with Mr. May re the Tri-Municipal <br />project and the proposal's posS~le effect on same. <br /> <br />Petitio~re hose drills: <br /> <br /> Mr. Arthur So]berg of Irontown presented a petition fr scme of the <br />area residents re a hose drill held last month by the fire co. He stated <br />that the drill had been conducted without notice, nor with permits, and <br />created air pollution. <br /> <br /> <br />
