The Annual meeting of the Village Board o~ Trustees was held on Monday, April 3, 1978 at 8:00 P.M. in the American Legion Hall for · the purpose of making annual appointments and to reorganize .the different committees that will enact the business during the coming year. All officers elected at the Annual Election had previously been sworn in by the Village Clerk. Present: Mayar Synnett, Tr. Dolan, Tr. Alfonso, Tr. Lawrence, Tr. $ilvestri~ Tr. $chinella, Tr. DiGregorio and Atty. Lyons. Atty. Lyons reported that at the.last general Village £1ectlon, the voters approved a Local Law transferring the po~er to appoint all non-elective Village officerst members of the Zoning Board of Appeals~ the Planning Board and seperate Board of Commissioners back to the Board of Trustees. He stated Local Law has been filed with the Secretary o~ State. Atty. Lyons reported there was one quest ion and that was the appointment of a Water Commissioner. He stated that, if incumbant had been approved at the last Annual meeting, person would continue to serve in office. If not, there would be a new appoontment. It was determined that at the last Annual meeting the Board, by a 5 to 2 roll call vote, approved Theodore Litz as Mater Commissioner. The Mayor appointed Anthony DiMarco and, according to the l~w at tha2 time, incu~bant would continue to serve even i~ overruledo Atty. Lyons stated that, if the ab.ore mentioned meeting minutes had been approved by the Village Board, appointment for the remainder o£ the term would have to be made. 'Mayor Synnett congratulated the Trustees elected at the previous election. Tr. Alfonso inquired if the Village Board had the power to appoint committees and Atty. Lyons replied there were no statutory requirements. He s~ated .Advisory Committees were created by the Village Board and the others were traditionally appointed by the Mayor. Mayor Synnett reported Trustees were appointed on committees to serve in the best interests of the Village.
