The Annual meeting of the Village Board o~ Trustees was held on <br />Monday, April 3, 1978 at 8:00 P.M. in the American Legion Hall for <br />· the purpose of making annual appointments and to reorganize .the <br />different committees that will enact the business during the <br />coming year. <br /> <br />All officers elected at the Annual Election had previously been <br />sworn in by the Village Clerk. <br /> <br />Present: Mayar Synnett, Tr. Dolan, Tr. Alfonso, Tr. Lawrence, <br />Tr. $ilvestri~ Tr. $chinella, Tr. DiGregorio and Atty. Lyons. <br /> <br />Atty. Lyons reported that at the.last general Village £1ectlon, <br />the voters approved a Local Law transferring the po~er to <br />appoint all non-elective Village officerst members of the Zoning <br />Board of Appeals~ the Planning Board and seperate Board of <br />Commissioners back to the Board of Trustees. <br />He stated Local Law has been filed with the Secretary o~ State. <br /> <br />Atty. Lyons reported there was one quest ion and that was the <br />appointment of a Water Commissioner. He stated that, if <br />incumbant had been approved at the last Annual meeting, <br />person would continue to serve in office. If not, there would <br />be a new appoontment. <br /> <br />It was determined that at the last Annual meeting the Board, <br />by a 5 to 2 roll call vote, approved Theodore Litz as Mater <br />Commissioner. <br />The Mayor appointed Anthony DiMarco and, according to the l~w at <br />tha2 time, incu~bant would continue to serve even i~ overruledo <br /> <br />Atty. Lyons stated that, if the ab.ore mentioned meeting minutes <br />had been approved by the Village Board, appointment for the <br />remainder o£ the term would have to be made. <br /> <br />'Mayor Synnett congratulated the Trustees elected at the previous <br />election. <br /> <br />Tr. Alfonso inquired if the Village Board had the power to <br />appoint committees and Atty. Lyons replied there were no <br />statutory requirements. He s~ated .Advisory Committees were <br />created by the Village Board and the others were traditionally <br />appointed by the Mayor. <br /> <br />Mayor Synnett reported Trustees were appointed on committees to <br />serve in the best interests of the Village. <br /> <br /> <br />
