A Special Meeting was held on July 20, 1978 at 7:30 P.M. at the A~erican <br />Legion Hall to discuss agreement between the Village and the Town of <br />Poughkeepsie for use of the Village*s sewer system which expires 9-30-78. <br /> <br />Present: Mayor Synnett, Tr. Dolan, Tr. Alfonso, Tr. Lawrence~ Tr% Silvestri, <br />Tr. Schinella, Tr. DiGregorio and Att. Lyons <br /> <br />Also present: To~n Supervisor Buchholtz~ Councilmen Sedore b Heot~ler & <br />Eng. Kelley. <br /> <br />Tr. Dolan reported Village was interested in negotiating a fair agreement. <br /> <br />Atty. Lyons stated that any aaditions should be considered. <br /> <br />Mr. Sedore stated that the most important issue was commercial establishments. <br /> <br />Tr. Schlnella inquired as to the additional number of commercial ~nits and <br />Eng. Kelley replied apDroximately 20. <br /> <br />5uperviso~ Buchholz inquired as to what the Village was asking and Tr. <br />Dolan replied $80.00 per residence. <br />He stated system required an engineer~nQ study which will be expensive. <br /> <br />Tr. Lawrence discussed odor along W. Main St. as a result of the Town <br />pumping. <br /> <br />Tr. Schinella reported system wasn't functioning smoothly. <br /> <br />Supervisor Buchholtz reported this increasd could be agreed to if the <br />Town was given assurance that the Village would commit themselves to <br />t~ke on holding tanks along with commercials. <br /> <br />Tr. Lawrence discussed the increased number of sewer service calls and <br />other problems stating situation was getting worse. <br /> <br />Tr. Schinella stated Village could possibly take on additional commercial <br />units, at a higher rate, pending completion of the storm drain situation in <br />the First Ward. <br /> <br />Mayor Synnett reported sewer plant was expensive to run and taxes had to <br />be raised. <br /> <br />Att. Lyons reported the Town had 333 residential hook ups~ 16 for Sheafe <br />Road School, and 20_ o(~amercial. <br />He stated that in July of 1974 agreement was amended to increase each unit <br />to $55.00 per yr. <br /> <br />Supervisor Buccholz inquired if the Village had an itemized list in <br />reference to the Sewer Plant's budget. She stated the Town was paying <br />over $~0,000. a yr. which was almost the the entire maintenance cost <br />orr the plant. <br /> <br /> <br />
