The regular meeting of the Village Board of Trustees was held on <br />December 13, 1978 at 7:30 P.M.' in the AmericanLegion Mall. <br /> <br />Present: Mayor Synnett, Tr. Alfonso, Tr. Lawrence, Tr. Silvestri, Tr. <br />$chinella, Tr. DiGregorlo & Atty. Lyons. <br />Absent: Tr. Dolan - Due to illness. <br /> <br />Minutes: <br />Minutes of four Public Hearings and the regular ~eeting held Nov. 8, 1978 <br />had been duplicated and previously presented to Board members. <br /> <br />Motidn by Tr. Silvestri, seconded by Tr. DiGregorio that the above <br />minutes be accepted as written. C~xrled. <br /> <br />Mr. Norman Ferling, Park Commission Chairman, addressed meeting and <br />discussed vandelism to Mesier Paxk which included trees, placards, poles <br />and benches being destroyed. He also reported garbage being stre~n around, <br />windows broken and the shed being broken into. <br /> <br />Mr. Ferling recommended a curfew from dusk .to dawn, with certain exceptions, <br />and discussed same previously with the Park Commission, Police Chief and <br />· Atty. Lyons. <br /> He stated this would give more control over groups after dark. <br />Mr. Ferling reported they were trying to keep the grounds neat and discussed <br />repairs & painting to the inside & outside of the Mesier Homestead. <br /> <br />Atty. Lyons reported the Mesier Park was created by a s~ecial act of <br />Legislature in 1892. He stated the Legislative Comm. could draft what <br />evelflocal law which would be required to provide for maintenance. <br />Atty. Lyons reported that anything done must be approved by the Village <br />Board. <br /> <br />The above referred to the Legislative Comm. to draft a Local Law with <br />a 9:00 P.M. Curfew, with exceptions. <br /> <br />Resident of Oak Tree Village inquired as to what was bein9 done on <br />restricting the boarding up of structures and Atty. Lyons reported <br />co-~ittee hasn't met. <br /> <br />Tr. Schtnella reported a Public Hearing will be held on this sub,eot <br />prior to the Jan. 10, 1979 meeting. <br /> <br />Mr. Frank Savelli, Zoning Chairman, addressed meeting requesting the <br />Village Board hire a surveyor or an engineer to plot the property of <br />Duane White, 4 N. Remsen Ave., who was in the pro, ess of building a <br />garage. <br />He stated there was some ~uestion as to the 5 ft. variance fro~ the <br />/adjoining property OWner and the elevation of the bldg. <br /> <br />TrL Lawrence inquired if there Was'a d&ed restriction and Atty. Lyons <br />replied they,knew the siz~ of the lot butthey didn't know ho~ it ran. <br />He stated there was no ~ther way the Zoning Board of Appeals could <br />resolve the problem as they didn't have the expertise to make this <br />type of determination. <br />Atty. Lyons reported something would be adopted.for the future. <br /> <br /> <br />
