The regular meeting of the Village Board of Trustees was held on Wednesday~ <br />HatCh 14~ 1979 at 7:30 P.M. in the American Legion Hall. <br /> <br />Present: Hayor Synnett, Tr. Dolan, Tr. L&wrence~ Tr. Silvestri, Tr. $chinella <br />Tr. DiGregorlo, Atty. Lyons. <br />Absent: Tr. Alfonso. <br /> <br />Frances DiPolito~ Delavergne Ave.~ addressed meeting concerning a drainage <br />problem in the area which results with water seeping into her basement. <br />She stated this problem has existed for a long period of time and wanted <br />a [olution. <br /> <br />Tr. La~rence reported majority of the water was coming from the Town of <br />Poughkeepsie & drain system was not adequate. <br />He stated the Town floated a bond issue for the installation of a drain <br />line down Delave~gne Ave. to alleviate the problem but same was turned <br />down. <br />Tr..Lawrence stated s~aething has to be done this coming year. <br /> <br />Ms. DiPolito reported her cellar gets full of water and problem has existed <br />for years. <br /> <br />Atty. Lyons reported alternatives open to resolve this problem have been <br />outlined and were in the process of being negotiated. <br />He stated the only other alternative was to initiate action. <br /> <br />Tr. Dolan suggested putting pressure on the Town & Atty. Lyons directed <br />to send a.letter in an effort to alleviate problem. <br /> <br />Ms. DiFolito reported problem was there no~ as it has been for the last <br />10 to 12 years. <br /> <br />Atty. Lyons reported the government cant solve all the problems ~nd the <br />Village cant expend taxpayers money unless they are caused by the Village. <br /> <br />Tr. Silvestri recommended not signing the sewer contract with the Town <br />of Poughkeepsie until drainage problem is resolved. <br /> <br />Mr. Ferling~ Park Chairman. addressed meeting concerning renovations at <br />Mesier Homestead. Me stated a new floor has been installed at Police <br />station, 1st floor repainted and repairs made to ~he porch and roof. <br />He stated Police station has been re~ for maximum security. <br /> <br />Agenda: <br /> <br />Report on drainage problem on Mesier Ave.: <br />Mayor Synnett reported Eng. LaPar has submitted astudy due to flooding <br />in the area and same will be discussed at budget hearings. <br /> <br />Tr. Lawr~ence reported there was much flooding in this location and this <br />was a Village problem as there were no drains in the area. He stated, the <br />Board would have to resolve the situation. <br /> <br /> <br />
