Public Hearing on a proposed Local Law entitled, "Rules and B~gulations for <br />Wappingers Falls Lake" was held on February 12th, 1992, beginning at 7:15 P.M. <br />in the Village Hall. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br />Mayor Hin~mann, Tr. Napoleon, Tr. DiDcmizio, Tr. Kcmornik, Tr. Bovino, Tr. Costello, <br /> <br />Others Present: <br />Attorney Viglotti <br /> <br />Tr. Bain stated that the Lake Cum,~ttee had met and discussed and prepared a draft <br />to set up rules and regulations for the use of th~ lake which are used to preserve <br />order and control on the lake, and also help control and resolve all activities. <br /> <br />Tr. Bain then outlined the sections of the law with regards to the use of tb~ lake, <br />and anyone violating sections 2 through 5 would be d~aed disorderly and fined a <br />fee not exceeding $200.00. <br /> <br />Copy of Rules and R~gulations is appended to these _Minutes. <br /> <br />May~r ~{inmmann stated±this is a good and necessary la~l as the Village ~.a~s <br />the lake and accidents can and do happen and this law will protect the Village <br />against law suits. <br /> <br />Mayor Hinm~nn then asked if there were any questions or cu.m,ents in regard to the <br />law. <br /> <br />Tr. Bain stated that the coves are pretty shall~ and can be used for skating, <br />however the channel that r~ns under the bridge and goes to the dam undercuts that <br />ice and he is putting a warning that the ice may look safe, but children should stay <br />away frc~ the channel. <br /> <br />Cu~t~331ications: <br /> <br />A letter was read frcm Rep. Hamilton Fisch in regard to the Lake which stated <br />that $100,000 had been originally allocated but it has ~n curtailed to $88,000, <br />and this is a 12% cut. Copy of letter attached to Minutes. <br /> <br />Tr. Bain stated that the Corps of Engineers could do a study for $88,000 and a <br />letter would be put in the newspaper for public cr~t~t~nt. Activity would begin in tb~ <br />spring. <br /> <br />Letter was read frcm Hugh Knickerbocker of MHPC, Inc., which tharked the Village of <br />Wappingers Falls for allowing him to serve as supervisor of the water district. <br />Letter of appreciation to be sent to 5~IPC, Inc.. <br /> <br />Letter read frc~ Thcmas Visentin, Chairman of the Planning Board recc~t,,tending that <br />the Board of Trustees not make any decision regarding filling the vacancy on tb~ <br />Board this month.
