A Public Hearing on the 1979-80 tentative Village budget was heXd on <br />Monday~ April X6~ 1979 at 7:30 P.M, in the American Legion Hall. <br /> <br />Present: Mayor S~nnett~ Tr. Dolan, Tr. Al£onso, Tr. Lawrence, <br />Silvestri~ Tr. DiGregorio~ Tr. Viglotti~ Atty. Lyons & Treasurer <br />Campiliio <br /> <br />Treasurer Ca~pilii reported Hg. was on the preliminary budget for <br />the year 1979-80 and the requests from the various departments have <br />been analized. <br />He gave the following breakdowns: <br /> <br />Total Appropriations: <br />Estimated Revenues <br />Cash Surplus <br />Total Revent~ <br />Balance for Tax Levy <br /> <br />$ 980~183. <br /> 373,809. <br /> 29,000o <br /> 402~809. <br /> 577~374. <br /> <br />Treasurer Campilii reported proposed t~x rate would be $34.77 per <br />thousand. <br /> <br />Mayor Synnett reported he received a letter from Central Hudson reporting <br />their costs would be substantially higher. <br /> <br />Treasurer Campilii reported the Village would receive $36,000. in <br />revenue sharing funds and is broken down as follows: <br /> <br />Police= $ 19,O00. <br />Fire: 2,000. <br />Sanitation 15,000. <br /> <br />Mayor Slmnett reported Village would float a bond issue for a sewer <br />project. <br /> <br />Tr, Lawrence reported two largest budget expenditures were the Police <br />and Highway. <br /> <br />Mayor Synnett stated water system has to be pppraded. <br /> <br />Tr. Dolan reported increase in t~x rate was too much and budget should <br />be cut. <br /> <br />Tr. Alfonso reported our sweeper was outdated. <br /> <br />Mayor Synnett reported insurance alone would cost $37~000. <br /> <br />It was generally agreed t~t inflation was the major cause for the <br />increases. <br /> <br />Treasurer Campilii reported increase in tax rate would amount to between <br />$35.00 to $40.00 per taxpayer. <br /> <br />Motion by Tr. Lawrence, seconded by Tr. Alfonso that Public HO. adjourn. <br />Carried. 8:00 P.M. <br /> <br /> <br />
