The second monthly n~cting of the Village Board of Trustees was held on <br />Wednesday, August 26, 1992 at 730 P.M_. in the Village Hall. <br /> <br />Present: Mayor Hinzmann, Tr. Napoleon, Tr. DiDcmizio, Tr. Kcn~rnik, Tr. Shay, <br />Tr. Bain and Tr. Usavich. <br /> <br />Mr. Furlani addressed meeting stating he was the owner of a hc~e and three <br />apartments on Mill Street. <br />He stated he wasn't going to pay charges as apartments were vacant period- <br />ically and didn',t generate that rmlch garbage when occupied. <br />Mr. Furlani reported that, should Village not pick up the garbage, he would <br />dispose of the same himself. <br /> <br />Tr. Napoleon reported this type_ of action cannot be allowed as same would <br />defeat purpose of encore procedure. <br />He stated enforc~nent policy will he carried out should violations exist. <br /> <br />Mrs. Furlani refused payment for the single family hc~e as she was never <br />notified of Senior citizen discount and should not be denied same. <br /> <br />In reference to Refuse program, Tr. Napoleon discussed fees collec tad to <br />date, which was at 29%, and reported apartment complexes have not suhn itted <br />payment as yet. <br />He stated enforcement will be strictly adhered to as Village charges to <br />Collector still has robe made monthly, and outside carterers are disallowed <br />under the oontract. <br /> request <br />Tr. Napolec~ discussed/frcm Mr. Harlin, 9 Adam St., that he be exempted frcm garbage <br />fee since his only property in the Village was vacant land. <br />He reported Mr. Harlin's property was assessed for $6,000., he received a $97.00 <br />rebate for garbage collection, and was receipient of other Village services. <br />Tr. Napoleon stated that, as a ~axpayer, he should be cc~nitted to pay garbage <br />bill. <br /> <br />Tr. Usavich reported property was partially in the Village and the assessed <br />valuation of $6000. covered services already rendered. <br /> <br />Discussion followed on Jewelry Loss Claim which arose on 3-6-92. <br /> <br />Motion by Tr. Shay, seconded by Tr. Bain that Elaine Farrell he reimbursed <br />$1182.65 as settlement of the above mentioned claim. Carried. <br /> <br />Tr. Napolec~ discussed letter received frcm Municipal Sewer Cu~lission dated <br />7-20-92 in which they claim Villages' payment for the first two quarters in 9 <br />1988 sh~,~d a c~nbined shortage of $38,533.25 and they requested reimburse- <br />ment. <br />He suhnitted list of payments for this period which amounted to Village paying <br />71% of the share for each quarter. <br /> <br />Action tabled at the present t/me. <br /> <br />Tr. Shay reported request received frcm Vincent Paino Jr., Ca ptain , Wm. T. <br />Garner Engine Co., requesting permission to take Engine ~ 1 and the Ladder <br />Truck to the Town of Wappinger Cc~mknity Day parade on 9-13-92. <br /> <br />Motion by Tr. Kcmornik, seconded by Tr. D~zio that the above request be <br />granted. Carried. <br /> <br /> <br />
