A workshop session to discuss the 3 burnt out buildings on West Hain St. <br />was held on Nov. 28, 1979 at 7:30 P.M. in the American Legion Hall. <br /> <br />Present: Mayor Synnett, Tr. Dolan, Tr. Alfonso, Tr. Lawrence, Tr. Silvestrt, <br />Tr. DiGregorio & Tr. Viglotti. <br /> <br />Also present: Dominic Napoleon, Frank Savelli, Peter Stoetzel, Donald Gavlick, <br />Zoning Officer Haubennestel, Gil Napoleon & Tony Cinelli. <br /> <br />Mayor Synnett reported buildings constituted a hazardous condition and a <br />petition has been received from residents & merchants in the area. <br />He stated condition has existed for 2 years and the Village wanted to ' <br />know what was going to be done with the buildings as the matter had to <br />be resolved. <br /> <br /> Hr. Gil Napoleon reported there were more than one burnt out bldg. in the <br /> Village. He stated the doors on his bldg. were intact and same was not <br /> facially damaged. <br /> Mr. Napoleon reported he had 3 broken windows and the store facility and <br /> 2nd floor could be occupied in a 10 day period. <br /> He stated the roof was damaged but the floors were intact. <br /> Mr. Napoleon inquired as to what he was supposed to do with the bldg. <br />'aa sadae was in the hands of ~ realtor. <br /> He reported a public hazard existed across the street and junk shops <br /> opened on Main Street obstructing Village property. <br /> Mr. Napoleon reported he received $3800. as a settlement from the insurance <br /> company due to the bldg, not being occupied. <br /> <br />Mayor Synnett reported Mr. Kelly's blag has been sold and there were 6 <br />other burnt out bldgs in the Village. <br /> <br />Tr. Alfonso reported bldgs were being publicized by the local press. <br /> <br />Mr. Cinelli reported bldgs, were vlrtualty sold three times but, for so~e <br />reason, perspective buyers were frightened away. <br />He stated his bldg. was insured for liability. <br /> <br />Mr. Napoleon reported burnt out bldgs, only had to be remodeled as no <br />structural changes wonld be made. <br /> <br />Tr. Lawrence reported that, before the fire, bldgs, were occupied and <br />tenants had to find their own parking. <br /> <br />Tr. Alfonso inquired if anything had to be done with regards to the Zoning <br />Ordinance. <br /> <br />Mr. Haubennestel replied that if bldgs, were damaged more than 50~ they <br />would revert to what the Zon%ng ordinance has been changed to. <br /> <br />Discussion followed on procedures to be followed to repair bldgs, and it <br />decided same would be i;minimal. <br /> <br /> <br />
