A Workshop session was held on Jan. 23, 1980 at 7=30 P.H. in the American <br />Legion Hall to discuss sewer £1ow from the Town of Poughkeepsie. <br /> <br />Present: Mayor Synnett, Tr; Alfonso, Tr. Lawrence, Tr. DiGregorio~ <br />Viglotti, Atty. Lyons and Superintendent Sidote. <br /> <br />Also present from Town of Poughkeepsie: Deputy Supervisor Johnie Duggan, <br />Town Councilman Caral J. Garrity and Superintendent Cacchio. <br /> <br />Mayor Synnett reported holding tank at Swenson Dr. was overflowing thus <br />polluting the lake. He stated complaints have been received from residents <br />concerninG the odor from the West Main St. line. <br />Mayor Synnett reported sewer contract was not signed and the Village was <br />encountering drainage problems. <br />He stated Village doesn't want to get involved with the Health Dept. <br /> <br />Hr. Sidote reported everything running okay. He stated there have been <br />breakdowns when the holding tank is released too fast into the system <br /> <br />Hr. Cacchio reported they were having problems with the ~umDs and holding <br />tank. He stated the wet well backed up and the pumps came on. <br />Mr. Cacchio reported that on 1-8-80 they had an overflow when the compressor <br /> <br />Atty. Lyons reported contract had been agreed to by all parties and <br />conditions on drainage was never inserted. <br />He stated contract was never signed and no violations of the provisions <br />have been incurred. <br />Atty. Lyons reported there was no requiremen~ that anyone had to report <br />to the Village when the tank was ready. <br /> <br />Tr. Alfonso reported Village Board agreed to the installation of the tank. <br /> <br />Disucssion followed on the installation of a parallel line, should the <br />Nelson Ave. property be developed causing an overload on the plant. <br /> <br />Atty. Lyons reported this was not part of this contract and , due to <br />excessive volume on the lines~ a holding tank was agreed to. <br /> <br />Mayor Synnet~ inquired as to drainage in the Wappingers Lake. <br /> <br />Mr. Cacchio replied this occurred when wet well overflowed. <br />He s~ated he forsaw no future problems other than a power outaGe~ as they <br />had a back up compressor. <br /> <br />Tr. Alfonso inquired as to dumping into the manhole at the entrance ~o <br />South Hills Hall and it was determined this was sealed. <br /> <br />Mayor Synnett requested Village be notified of any break downs and the <br />times they occur. <br /> <br /> <br />
