The Annual meeting of the Village Board of Trustees was held on 4-7-80 <br />at 7:00 P.M. in the American Legion Hall. <br /> <br />Village Clerk swore in all officers elected at the previous election. <br /> <br />Present: Mayor Synnett, Tr. Dolan, Tr. Moruzzi, Tr. Silvestri, Tr. Costa <br />Tr. DiGregorio, Tr. Viglotti and Atty. Lyons. <br /> <br />On advise of Atty. Lyons a motion was made by Tr. DiGregorio, seconded by <br />Tr. Silvestri that meeting go into Executive session. <br /> <br />Executive session <br /> <br />Motion by Tr. DiGregorio, seconded by Tr. Silvestri that meeting go into <br />regular session and that the rules of procedures be changed to allow <br />the Village Board to appoint the standing committees and their respective <br />chairmen. <br /> <br />Tr. Viglotti reported committees acted in a liason capacity as they did <br />the outside work for the Village Board. He stated he didn't see what <br />difference it made as who served on the committees. <br /> <br />Tr. DiGregorio reported this was a more democratic process. <br /> <br />Tr. Viglotti reported this action was taking away the power of the Mayor <br />which was traditional. <br /> <br />.Tr. DiGregorio reported Village Law was explicit as to the powers of the <br />Mayor. <br /> <br />Tr. Viglotti reported only difference it made was a matter of convenience. <br /> <br />Mayor S~nnett reported this was a small community and Trustees were <br />elected to serve the people. He stated appointments has always been <br />fair. <br /> <br />Motion carried - Trustee Costa abstaining and Tr. Viglotti voting nay. <br /> <br />Appointments: <br /> <br />Village Treasurer: <br />Motion by Tr. $ilv~stri, secor~ed by Tr. Moruzzi that Mr. Anthony Campilii <br />be appointed to the above position. Carried. <br /> <br />Villape Clerk: <br />Motion by Tr. Viglotti, seconded by Tr. l)iGregorio that Mr. Leo Lowney <br />be appointed to the above postion and the term of office be extended to <br />4 years. <br /> <br /> <br />
