<br />Minutes following the 12/10/2008 Village Board Meeting <br /> <br />C <br />LERK READ PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE <br /> <br />th <br />Continuation of the Public Hearing which was held on Wednesday the 12 of <br />November, 2008 at 7:00 P.M. at 7 Spring Street, Village of Wappingers Falls. This <br />Public Hearing is to continue the discussion of Local Law #7 for the Year 2008 <br /> at <br />which time all parties in interest and citizens shall have an opportunity to be heard as to <br />whether the Board of Trustees of the Village of Wappingers Falls shall adopt a proposed <br />Local Law No. 7 <br />Local Law entitled " of the Year 2008, No Stopping on Sidewalk.” <br /> <br />T7PM <br />HE CHAIR DECLARED THE PUBLIC HEARING OPEN <br /> <br />Mayor Alexander asked if the Board had any comments as this was a continuation of last <br />months meeting. Trustee Visentin said he would like to have this local law approved as it <br />would certainly improve the quality of life with respect to appearance of the village over <br />all. Questions arose as to loading and unloading in both the commercial and residential <br />areas. Trustee Visentin said it would be enforced by the village police on a one by one <br />basis and certain circumstances would certainly be permitted. Those in attendance both <br />the board and the general public were in agreement that it would improve the appearance <br />of the village overall. <br /> <br />Motion by Trustee Cerino to close the public hearing. Seconded by Trustee Visentin. <br />Carried. <br /> <br />C <br />LERK READ PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE <br /> <br />NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN <br /> that the Board of Trustees of the Village of Wappingers <br />th <br />Falls will conduct a PUBLIC HEARING on the 10 day of December, 2008, at 7:00 p.m. <br />at the American Legion Hall, 7 Spring Street, Wappingers Falls, New York, at which <br />time all parties in interest and citizens shall have an opportunity to be heard as to whether <br />the Board of Trustees of the Village of Wappingers Falls shall adopt a proposed Local <br />Local Law No.8 <br />Law entitled " of the Year 2008, Amending the Fines and Penalties <br />Required by the Code of the Village of Wappingers Falls.” <br /> <br />T7:10PM <br />HE CHAIR DECLARED THE PUBLIC HEARING OPEN <br /> <br />Mayor Alexander asked the board if they had any questions about the proposed local law. <br />Attorney Viglotti explained the reason for the Local Law in some detail. The main reason <br />as explained by Trustee Visentin is to at least recover the cost of processing a violation <br />via the fine. Attorney cost, court cost and village employees cost to this point are not <br />even close to being recovered in the fine. All in attendance agreed the fine was low and <br />needed to be increased to maybe make offenders aware of a higher fine and at the same <br />time recover some of the expenses incurred during the process. <br /> <br />Page 1 of 5 <br /> <br />
