Regular meeting of the Village Board of Trustees was held on July g, 1980 <br />at 7:00 P.Mo in the American Legion Hall. <br /> <br />Present: Mayor Synnettt Tr. Dolant Tr. Moruzzi, Tr. Silvestri, Tr. Costa, <br />Tr. DiGrego~io, Tr. Viglotti and Atty. Lyons. <br /> <br />Minutes: - <br />Minutes of t he last regular Village Beard meeting held 6-11-80 had been <br />duplicated and previously presented t o Board members. <br /> <br />Motion by Tr. Silvestri, seconded by Tr. Viglotti that the above minutes <br />be accepted as written. Carried. <br /> <br />Motion by Tr. DiGregorio, seconded by Tr. Moruzzi that the Village Boaed <br />adhere to the agenda, other than listening to the consultant. <br /> <br />Mr. Allen Koppel discussed possibility of getting assistance from the <br />Federal Government for repairs to the water system. He stated there <br />were twd avenues: <br /> <br />1. F.H.A.- He reported monies were available based on the characteristics <br />of the community. Mr. Koppel reported Village could get a 5~ loan and the <br />bul~ of the project based on a small grant. He stated grant money o~er <br />and above the loan was available. <br /> <br />2. Dept. of Housing a~ Urban Development: Mr. Koppel reported there were <br />funds available but there was competition. He stated they provided 99~ <br />funding and filing date was 10-1-80 <br />Mr. Koppel discussed filing applications with FHA which included State <br />and regionalreview~ formal paper work and a comprehensive engineering <br />study. He stated we wouldn't hear anything until the end of the year. <br />Mr. Koppel reported Village could apply to both agencies and ceiling <br />for 9rant was half a million dollars. <br /> <br />Tr. Moruzzi inquired as to which way we should go and Mr. Koppel replied <br />he needed direction from the Village. <br /> <br />Disucssion followed on costs for filing applications for grants and it <br />was determined same would run between $6,000. and $7~000. fo= both <br />which included engineering and environmental studies. <br /> <br />Mayor Synnett inquired as to funding for other projects, and Mr. Koppel <br />replied we would have to tell them what we want and what it would <br />cost before applications are filed. <br /> <br />Tr. DiGregOrio inquired as to filing applications andgiving particulars <br />at a later d ate. <br />Mr. Koppel replied we would need a preliminary engineering study ~nd <br />what has to be. done. <br /> <br />Motion by Tz~ Moruzzi, seconded by Tr. Costa that a special meeting <br />be scheduled for 7-16-80 at 7:00 P.M. to discuss water grants with <br />Village Treasurer, Water Dept. and Engineers. Carried. <br /> <br /> <br />
