<br />MINUTES OF PLANNING BOARD -2- 12/3/09 <br /> <br />Mr. McCormick made a motion to approve the use for a specialty grocery store to sell <br />food, gifts and champagne contingent upon (1) license from Department of Marketing <br />and Agriculture and (2) Liquor License from State for the sale of Champagne only. Mr. <br />Kocan seconded the motion. Unanimously carried. <br /> <br />Next the sign was discussed. Mr. Morris asked Mr. Bostwick to explain the slats in the <br />sign. Mr. Bostwick stated he was approved for four slats with his site plan. He has one <br />of the slats and Creative Kitchens has two of them for their sign – there is one slat left <br />and it will be used by Mr. Toujiline. The road sign is 2’ x 5’ double sided for a total of <br />20 sq. ft. and the building sign is 12’ x 1’ for 12 sq. ft. – after reviewing the proposals for <br />signs it was stated that all conforms to code. There is a color swatch on file for the signs. <br />Mr. McCormick made a motion to approve the road sign and the building sign as <br />proposed, seconded by Mr. Moran. Unanimously carried. The open neon sign was <br />discussed. Mr. Toujiline was informed that the requirement for an open neon sign was 1 <br />sq. ft. and it could not be flashing – he could use any language he wanted for the open <br />sign. Mr. Toujiline stated he would like to open the beginning of February. <br /> <br />Mr. Toujiline was reminded to go to the Code Enforcement Office for a building permit, <br />Certificate of Occupancy before he opened and to pay for his sign permit. <br /> <br />CHILDREN’S CONSIGNMENT/CLOTHING STORE, 2653 EAST MAIN ST. <br />Next on the agenda was the proposal from Angela Corcoran to be able to have a <br />Children’s Consignment/Clothing Store at 2653 East Main Street. Mr. Morris asked <br />Mrs. Corcoran is she had been opened for business before this evening and she stated no <br />she had not – she is in the store everyday getting it ready for business. Mrs. Corcoran <br />stated she will be selling used children’s clothing and accessories – it is all a consignment <br />based. Her hours of operation will be Tuesday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 <br />p.m. and possibly be opened a little later on Thursdays. Mr. Moran made a motion to <br />approve the use as proposed, seconded by Mr. McCormick. Unanimously carried. <br /> <br />Next the sign was discussed. It was going to be a window sign. Mrs. Corcoran had the <br />sign with her. It was stated that the linear frontage of the building was 22’6” and 11’ 3” <br />sq. ft. of sign would be allowed. It was stated that the first limitation would be the 11’3” <br />and the next limitation would be only be able to cover 25% of the window. After some <br />discussion it was stated that the sign conforms to all codes. Mr. Morris informed <br />applicant that the Planning Board would need samples of all colors of the sign for the <br />files. Mr. Moran made a motion to approve the sign as proposed contingent upon color <br />samples being brought to the Planning Office, seconded by Mr. McCormick. <br />Unanimously carried. <br /> <br />Mrs. Corcoran was instructed to come to the Code Enforcement Office to apply for her <br />Certificate of Occupancy and apply for her sign permit. <br /> <br /> <br />
