The building itself if 4700 sq. ft. and one level. Mr. Paggi explained <br />the inside of the building will include a break room, operator’s room, conference room, <br />lavatory, maintenance closet, equipment and materials storage room and softener room. <br />Mr. Paggi explained the architecture of the building. Mr. Paggi also showed the Board <br />examples of the Brick and stone that would be used for the building. He informed the <br />Board that he would keep them updated as the project progresses and when there is a <br />complete site plan he would make formal application to the Board. <br />GEORGE DAVIS, 1562 ROUTE 9 <br />Next on the agenda was the application from Mr. George Davis to be able to use the <br />former ABC Awards portion of 1562 Route 9 to be able to teach barbering skills, <br />conducting barbering classes for apprentice licensing and job placement in barbering. <br />Mr. Davis stated he is an educator for BOCES and currently works at C&C Unisex Hair <br />Stylists. He is certified with the State of New York and would like to start teaching <br />people how to cut hair – after successful completion of the course he would work with <br />the applicants to place them in jobs. Mr. Morris informed applicant that he would have to <br />work with the Code Enforcement Officer regarding hair traps, etc. Mr. Davis stated the <br />only renovations he would be doing to the space are cosmetic, attaching barbering <br />stations to walls and cutting window spaces. He was also informed that he would have to <br />work with Mr. Fenton to obtain his Certificate of Occupancy and occupant load for the <br />business. Mr. Morris asked Mr. Fenton if the proposed use was acceptable and Mr. <br />Fenton answered yes it was. At this point Ms. Kieffer made a motion to approve the <br />business, seconded by Mr. Moran. Unanimously carried. <br />Next the sign was discussed. Mr. Morris informed applicant that he would have to give <br />this office a sample of the red color in the sign permit. After informal discussion it was <br />determined that the sign was well within the zoning code. Mr. Davis stated he would be <br />installing this sign on the pylon sign in the front of the buildings. Mr. Davis also stated <br />that the only change he may have to the sign would be to add a barber pole. Mr. Moran <br />made a motion to approve the sign as presented contingent upon the red sample being <br />brought to the Zoning Office. Ms. Kieffer seconded the motion.
