<br /> Minutes following the 9/8/10 Village Board Meeting <br /> <br />PH <br />UBLIC EARING <br /> <br />T <br />HE CHAIR DECLARES THE PUBLIC HEARING OPEN <br />C <br />LERK READS PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE <br /> <br /> <br />LEGAL NOTICE <br />NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING <br />VILLAGE OF WAPPINGERS FALLS <br /> <br />NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN <br /> that the Board of Trustees of the Village of <br />Wappingers Falls will conduct a PUBLIC HEARING on the 8th day of September, 2010, <br />at 7:00 p.m. at the American Legion Hall, 7 Spring Street, Wappingers Falls, New York, <br />at which time all parties in interest and citizens shall have an opportunity to be heard as <br />to whether the Board of Trustees of the Village of Wappingers Falls shall adopt a <br />proposed Local Law entitled "Local Law No. 12 of the Year 2010, Amending Chapter <br />143-56 of the Code of the Village of Wappingers Falls”. <br /> <br /> PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE <br /> that the purpose and intent of the <br />proposed Local Law is to amend Chapter 143-56 of the Code of the Village of <br />Wappingers Falls so as to establish a 15 minute parking zone along the east side of <br />Market Street south of its intersection with East Main Street. <br /> <br />PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE <br /> that a copy of the proposed Local Law is <br />available for review and inspection at the Office of the Village Clerk on weekdays from <br />8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., at the Village Hall, 2628 South Avenue, Wappingers Falls, New <br />York. <br />Dated: September 1, 2010 <br /> <br />Mayor Alexander opened the hearing by reading the proposed local law. Mayor <br />Alexander referred to several letters written by local business owners expressing their <br />concerns about parking. The village planning board recommended 15 minute parking on <br />the East side of Market Street from East Main to the beginning point of Stephano’s <br />Restaurant. Those in attendance were apposed to the recommendation. Mayor Alexander <br />said three 15 minute parking spots would be allowed in front of Chubby’s beginning at a <br />point 285 feet in continuing an additional 60 feet allowing for the three spots. Mayor <br />Alexander asked the public if there were any concerns about the proposed three spots as <br />apposed to the planning board recommendation. Those in attendance were in favor of the <br />3 15 minute parking spots. Motion by Trustee Alfonso to close the Public Hearing. <br />Seconded by Trustee Costa.
