Mayor Alexander said many hours were spent with the Trustees and
Department Heads to ensure each expenditure was reviewed in detail. The Mayor pointed
out each workshop was open to the public and one resident attended most of them. Mayor
Alexander read all pages of the budget starting with the General Fund Revenues. The
Mayor said the Real Property Taxes would be up 1.64 % overall. The Mayor spent a great
deal of time reviewing the entire budget from the General Fund Revenues, General Fund
Expenditures, Homestead Taxable, Non-Homestead Taxable , New Wage Rates,
Residential Garbage District Budget, Water Fund Budget and Sewer Fund Budget. There
were several questions from the public such as; mayors salary, recreation funds use and
snow removal fund allocation. Mayor Alexander explained the reasoning for the salary
increase and said use of recreation funds would be subject to board approval and that the
snow allocation is to protect the unknown as it is better to plan higher than lower as the
weather is unpredictable and fuel cost to operating equipment is on the rise. Mayor
Alexander asked the board if they had questions. Trustee Visentin said he opposed
granting a salary increase to two appointed officials as he felt they were not deserving
and he also pointed out two errors in the new wage rate schedule which needed
correction.

The Mayor thanked all who participated in the process and asked if there were any
questions relative to the budget. None replied.

Motion by Trustee Calabrese to close the Final Budget Hearing. Seconded by Trustee
Costa.
