<br />Minutes following the 04/10/2013 Village Board Meeting <br /> <br />MMVILLAGEBOARD <br />Welcome to the REGULAR of the <br /> EETINGAYOR AND OF <br /> <br />T <br /> today Wednesday, April 10, 2013 <br />RUSTEES <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARING <br />Local Law #1 2013 which “prohibits, restricts or regulates certain displays, <br />advertisements and/or announcements". The hearing will be held at 7:00 PM on the <br />13th of March 2013, American Legion Hall, Spring Street, and Village of <br />Wappingers Falls. <br />This Hearing was closed and no action will be taken as a result of the hearing. <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARING <br />Please take notice the Village of Wappingers Falls will be holding a hearing on <br />Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at 7pm located at 7 Spring Street, Wappingers Falls. <br />The public hearing will be regarding Local Law #2 – Creating a moratorium for <br />first floor residential units within any business district within in the Village of <br />Wappingers Falls. All interested parties will be heard. <br /> <br />Mayor Alexander opened the hearing. Attorney Viglotti said The Village Board of <br />the Village of Wappingers Falls has deemed it necessary to review the findings of a <br />certain study which suggest the use of first floor apartments in non-residential districts <br />should not be allowed and during such review, prohibit the construction of same. <br /> <br />th <br /> For a period of 6 months from April 15, 2013, the Planning Board, Code <br />Enforcement Officer and any other official of the Village of Wappingers Falls is <br />prohibited from reviewing, granting approval, or issuing permits which would allow for a <br />first floor residential use in a Business or Industrial District as defined in the Code of the <br />Village of Wappingers Falls. <br /> <br /> The above-stated prohibitions shall not apply to any building permits issued prior <br />to the date notice was given that this Local Law would be considered by the Village <br />th <br />Board. Said notice was published on March, 5 2013. <br /> <br /> Any person firm or entity that shall construct, erect, enlarge or alter any use in <br />violation of this Local Law shall be subject a penalty in an amount not greater than <br />$1000.00 for each day the violation shall exist. <br /> <br />Mayor Alexander asked if there were any questions from the Board? None replied. <br />Public? None replied. <br /> <br />Motion by Trustee Niznik to close the Public Hearing.
