LyonsI <br /> Hagineers Paggi & Martin <br /> <br />Also p~esent= 44 residents of Village ~ <br /> <br />Hagineer Paggi reported the proposed, project called for the replacement of 9ewer <br />and water mains along Rte. 9D in ~onjunction with the State reconstruction pro- <br />gram. He stated the project would start in the 1982-83 season and we would have <br />to prepare plans and cost estimates for the replacement of our ntilitiese <br /> <br />Engineer Paggi reported major reason was the age and Condition of mtilitie$ and <br />there was little capital improvement and we had constant failure. He displayed <br />maps showing the replacement of water lines along the entire length°of Rte. 9De <br /> <br />Engineer Paggi discussed the installation of new hydrants~ service connentio~ss <br />side street connections and the installation of a 12~ water main from the pm~ <br />station to Rim or Maple St.0 which would be decreased to an 8~ main to the Village <br />line. He stated there was a large pressure loss due to friction and proJedt would <br />increase pressure on the east side of the Village. He reported new service con-- <br />unctions would he copper lines and Village could implement a master plan th=ough- <br />,,out the oo~munity. <br /> Hngineer Paggi reported operation and maintenance would be reduced by decreasing <br /> pumping, electricity .and chl~rination. He stated N.YoSo Environmental Conserva- <br /> tion has ~equested the implementation of a leak detection plan and this wasl a <br /> positive move in this direction. <br /> <br />Regarding sanitary sewer liness Eng. Paggi reported there were 2 'sectional 1) <br />the bridge and 2) flat area on the west side of the Village northerly to the <br />Village line and the reason was the problem was more ~vident in these areag, <br />He discussed the replacement of manholes and house lateral constructions stating <br />we would be replacing an aging system. <br />~19, Paggi discussed the size of the new pipe, stating same would be adequate <br />due to the overflow, He discussed sewer odor on lower West Main St.s and the <br />problems on the bridge, : ~ <br />Eng. Paggi reported TV study showed system was deteriorating. He reported the <br />project was being contemplated in conjunction with the N,Y.So Depto of Transporta- <br />tion and design of Village facilities had to be completed by September of this <br />yea~. <br /> <br />l~'ig, Pagoi reported bids for the project would be let out in the Spring of 198~ <br />and construction would begin in the summer of the same year. He stated work would <br />be inspected by DOT and Village would have a resident engineer on the pro~ent. <br /> <br />Rug. Paggi discussed costs involved with the project which included the EI~ Street <br />drainage, He reported the State would, install a stoa sewer trunk line d~m South <br />Ave.s and there was a possibility that sewer reconstruction could be funded by <br />EPA. <br />B. no, Paggi reported costs do not reflect state aid and are broken down as followsi <br /> . ~ater $917,000 <br /> Sewn r 562,000 <br /> Him St. Drainage 136sO00 <br />He stated this was inclusive off all costs. <br /> <br />Eng.
