Regular meeting of the Village Board of Trustees was held on June 10, 1981 at 7:30 p.m., <br />in the American Legion. <br /> <br />Present: ~ayor Synnett, Tr. Maruzzi, Tr. Greco, Tr. Masoehi, Tr. DiGregorio, Atty. Lyons, <br />~ Engineers Paggi & Martin~; also in attendance .Wa~ Tr, Costa.r <br /> <br />Mayor ~ymmett reported Msgr. Brennan has .celebrated 45years and Father Hic~ey 25 years <br />since being ordained to the Priesthood. He also reported Sister M~uriee was leavt~ <br />~t..Mary's SchOol for another assignment. <br /> <br />M~tion by Tr. Moruzzi, seconded by Tr. DiGregorio that letters of e~mmendatien be for- <br />warded the above mentioned clergy. Carried. <br /> <br />C~.!ttee Reports~ : Police <br /> <br />Tr. Costa reported c~mmittee went to Green Ha~en and we purchased two cars fo~ replace- <br />ment. He stated we e~,.ld go to State bid in Sept. or October. <br />Tr. Costa reported no parking signs installed along W. Main St. and. in. regard to C~n- <br />plaints from lower Market St. residents, slow children pla~ing and speed checked By radar <br />signs have been installed. He stated officer is M~recting traffie on Market St~ and the <br />Chief wanted a Police Asst. as Mr. Masmuci wa~ resignir~. <br /> <br />Moti~n By Tr. 'M~xzzi, seconded by Tr. DiGregorio that Rocco Cea be hired 'as a p~- <br />time police officer. ~ ~ <br /> <br />Tr. Costa reported he received a letter from the Chief relative to the installatiom of <br />a fuel storeage tank. He stated the Chief said, that under the State bid, the V*'llmge <br />c~uld save $2,000 per year and recommended turning same over to the Police Curare. for <br />recc~mendatioms. <br /> <br />Tr. Costa reported he received another letter from the Chief recc~men~,g the purchase <br />of inexpensive cameras and scanners for each car and same was not included in. the. bud- <br />get. ~ suggested turning same over to Police C~. <br /> <br />Tr. Costa reported another letter received from the Chief that there were no air- <br />conditioners in used cars and suggested keeping 1979 lease car through the S'~mmer,' <br /> <br />Tr. Moruzzi reported we should keep car for the s,,mmer. <br /> <br />Tr. Costa reported windows up with air conditioning, officer was not alert. Ne state~ <br />.he was against same. <br /> <br />Tr. DiGregorio stated he would go along with the Chief's recommendation as same c~,l~_d <br />be Used. as a Back up car. <br /> <br /> Tr. Greco reporte~ they had the privilege of air ccmclitientng for the last 2 years and <br /> they should be given emafort for the sum~er. Ne stated 2 used vehicles purchased <br /> there was no guarantee same would hold up without repairs. <br /> Tr. Greco reported same w~d be a morale boost. <br /> <br /> Tr. Mazochi repo~ted we were here to serve tax payers .and there was the possibility of <br /> sickness getting in and out of car. He stated we purchased cars to return one. <br /> <br /> M~r Synnett reported we have the cars and they ~1o the job.
