The regular meetin9 cd the Village Board of Trustees was held on 8-11-82 <br />at 7:30 P.M, in the American Legion Hall, <br /> <br />Present: Mayor Synnett~ Tr. Greco~ Tr. Costa, Tr. Mazochi, <br />Carry, Atty. Lyons & Eng. Paggl. <br />Others in attendance: See attached list. <br /> <br />Motion by Tro Costa, seconded by Tr. Greco that the Eoard meet with members <br />of the W.T. Garner Enoine Co. next Wednesday at 7:30 P.M. Carried. <br /> <br />Mayor Synnett reported Bell Office ~uipment, 1 East Main St., has requested <br />a loading zone and he referred same to the Legislative Comm. , Police Dept. <br />and NYS Department of Transportation ~o arrange a meeting concerning same. <br /> <br />Tr. Greco reported request was investigated previously and no action taken. <br /> <br />Atty. Lyons reported same would need State approval. <br /> <br />Mayor Synnett reported request has been received for a change of zoning on the <br />Bain property and he referred same to Legislative Co~. <br /> <br />Atty. Lyons reported Sigma Environmental Systems, Inc. has asked for a change <br />of zoning at 169 West Main St. from Residential to General Business and <br />amsndment was referred to Planning Board. He stated they met and recomuaendation <br />made. Atty. Lyons reported request was referred to Legislative Co~m. to draft <br />a proposed amendment and we would have to set a date for a Public Hearing. <br /> <br />Public Heati~ scheduled for 9-1-82 at 7:00 P.M. <br /> <br />Motion by Tr. Mazochi, seconded by Tr. Costa that meeting go out of regular <br />order cd business to discuss the ~te. 9 project. <br /> <br />Mr. Halstead, NYS-DOT, reported they would be widening Rte. 9 to CottamHill <br />and meetings were held with Vilhge & Towns of Wappinger i Poughkeepsie. <br />He stated they were proposing a 4 lane highway with two lanes at medians for <br />turns which would improve Rte. 9 from Poughkeepsie to Fishki11. <br />Mr. Halstead reported the lake was a concern and Village had mentioned <br />sidewalks along Rte. 9. He stated a 40 mph speed limit has been set and drainage <br />problems have been investigated. <br />Mr. Halstead discussed the possibilities of either widening the east side or the <br />west side for. the installation of a bridge. He stated the more points that are <br />agreed to, the faster the project will move. <br />Mr. Halstead discussed details of the plan which included turns in and out, <br />signals, pedestrian indications, sidewalks and curbs. <br />They also discussed landscaping, installation of lights in the vicinity of the <br />bridge, foot paths and a culvert north of the bridge. <br />They reported some sediment would be removed from the lake. <br /> <br />Mayor Synnett reported two businesses would be lose and there were problems <br />with the lake. <br /> <br />Town of Wappinger SupervisOr Diehl stated he was not in favor of sidewalks <br />in the Town and suggested~ridge and culvert be constructed on the west side <br />and dredge area. <br /> <br />Tr.Brown discussed drainage problem on Rte. 9 in vicinity of Lass Road and <br />~lso.possibility of the installation of a standpipe for fire protection at <br />ne la~e. <br /> <br /> <br />
