Special meeting of the Village Board of Trustees was held on March 30~ 1970 <br />in the Mesier Homestead. The meeting was called to order at 8:00 P.M. <br /> <br />Those present: Mayor Furnari, Trustees: DiDomizio, Valentino, and Bain. <br />Those absent: Trustees: Cheetham, Fries, and Hoolihan. <br />Also present: Village Attorney L¥ons~ Engineer Adler and members of his <br />staff; Trustees-Elect: Synnett and McCluskey~ Chairman of Water Board~ <br />Harold Myers~ and John Berlnato. <br /> <br />Mayor Furnari explained that this was Special Meeting, and since all members <br />were not present to waive the Notice of Meeting, any action taken would have <br />to be ratified at the next Regular Meeting. <br /> <br />Engineer Adler presented plans and specifications for Fhase I of the new <br />water storage s~andpipe project. He stated that in the interests of saving <br />time~ the contract would be split into Fhase I~ construction and location of <br />standpipe and Fhase II which would include the base for the standpipe and <br />appurtenances, together with pipe lines. <br /> <br />Trustee DiDomizio inquired of Water Board Chairman~ Myers, what me~hod the <br />Water Board intended to use to raise the money for the project. Chairman <br />Myers answered that the Water Board was considering raising l~e water ratesI <br />but he could give no specifics at this time° <br /> <br />Engineer Adler requested that the Board authorize advertising for bids, and <br />suggested that such bids be opened April 2~th. <br /> <br />Motion by Tr. Valentino, seconded by Trustee Bain that the Village advertise <br />for bids on Phaee I of the water storage standpipe project, with bids to be <br />opendd on April 2~th. Unanimously adopted. <br /> <br />Atty. Lyons told the Board that if bids were opened on the 20th they could <br />be held 45 days before the award had to be made. He noted that the award could <br />not be made until the bonding resolution had been adopted, and that such <br />resolution would be subject to permissive referendum. <br /> <br />The Board instructed Atty. Lyons to have the bonding resolution prepared to <br />present at the regular meeting on April 8th. The Atty. advised that he needed <br />the estimated cost figures to determine the amount of the proposed bond issue. <br />Engineer Adler stated he would telephone these to Atty. Lyons the next day. <br /> <br />Tentative Budget <br /> "~6tion by Tr. Bain, seconded by Tr. Hoolihan that tentative Village <br />budget for the year 1970-71 be adopted and a copy of same be filed wlth~ <br />the Village Clerk on 4/1/70. <br /> <br />It was explained that since the special meeting had been called for the <br />specific reason of adopting the tentative budget, it was not necessary to <br />waive notice and the action on the budget need no~ be ratified later. <br /> <br />Meeting adjourned. <br /> <br />Village Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
