Miscellaneous meeting of the Village Bd. of Trustees was held on Wed.~ .April 22~ 1970 at 7:30 P.M, in the Mesier Homestead. Those present: Mayor Furnari,~ Tr. DiDomizio~ Tr. Valent~no, Tr. Bain, Synnett, Tr. McCluskey and Atty. Motion by Tr. McCluskey~ seconded by Tr. DiDomlzio that meeting go out of regular order of business. Carried. Mr. & Mrs. Burke~ Mr. & Mrs. Johnson and Mrs. SeifT$~ residents of Laffin Ave.~ present to discuss sewer problem. Tr. DiDomizlo reported Village was aware of problem which exists on private property as same was discussed previously, Mr. Johnson addressed meeting reporting sewer_line was installed by contractor and connected to Village sewer, He stated there was access on his property for clean up reasons. Mr. Johnson reported That 2 or 3 Times a year sewer line gets stopped up and runs into the lake causing a health hazard, He recommended finding out where obstruction was and the method for correction. Mr. Johnson stated it should be determined Where responsibility lies as raw sewage is entering the lake. Mrs. Johnson reported she has lived on the street for 20 ygars, received ser- vices from the Village and inquired if street was private or public. Atty. Lyons recommended meeting with property owners involved to inspect deeds, He reported many of services rendered, shouldn,t be rendered as this was basically and privately a problem of residents, but due to circumstances something will bare to be done. Meeting to be held with prope~y owners on Monda~ 4/27/70 at 7:30 P.M. and Mayor Furnar~ thanked delegation for Their attendancee Mr. Raymond Chase, Recreation Chairman~ addressed meetlug reporting a balance of $1200 in budget and cost for fence at Canale Field would be $80~, He stated budget for The new fiscal year amounted to $10~000 and $8700 has already been committed, Mr. Chase reported Arts and Crafts program would run for two months and base- ball for three months. He stated budget was very confining and requested the followin9: 1) Property abutting Clapp Ave, be set aside for a future recreation area. 2) Request $3,000 extra in budget, 3) Land at Veterans Field be surveyed. Mr. Chas~ reported Womens Softball LeaQue had to be turned down due to lack of facilities and there would not be any program for ~eenagers. He discussed possibility of installing an ice skating rink at Veterans Park at an approximate cost of $3~0OO, Tr. DiDomizio discussed peesibiliTy of Village doing something in the area of Veterans Park, Tr. SynnetT requested The purchase of 2 wings for dug ou~s at St. Mary's Field.
