Regular meeting of the Village Bd. of Trustees was held on Wed., June 10, 1970 <br />at 7:30 P.M., in the Mesier Homestead. <br /> <br />Those present: Mayor Furnari~ Tr. DiDomizio, Tr. Valentino, Tr. Bain~ Tr. <br />Synnett, Tr~ McCluske~ and Atty~ Lyons. <br /> <br />Minutes of last regular Village Bd. meetln9 held on 5/13/70 had been duplicated <br />and previously presented to Board members. <br /> <br />Motion by Tr. McCluskey, seconded by Tr. SYnnett Ghat abov~ minutes be accepted <br />as written. Carried. <br /> <br />Petitions,,: <br />Mrs. Elaine Farrell, Goring Pl., presented petition signed by 600 voters who <br />were opposed to zoning the DiCambio property and Williams property for M~lti <br />Family use. <br /> <br />Communications: <br />Letter of Appreciation was read from the family of Police Chief Martin. <br />(Letter previously read).. <br /> <br />Letter was read from Librarian Frances Drace, reporting the following statistics <br />for the year, June 1, 1969 to May 31, 1970, at the Grinnell Library: No. of borrowers from the Village-2,040 <br /> No. of books loaned to.village residents-18)972. <br />Motion by Tr. Synnett, seconded by Tr. DiDomizio that the above report be <br />accepted. Carried. <br /> <br />Letter was read from Joseph A. Marcelli, 18 Franklindale Ave., complaining <br />about condition of sidewalk at nos. 14 & 16 Franklindale A~. He would <br />appreciate it if they were replaced. Copy of letter to be forwarded Highway <br /> <br />Letter was read from Margaret Brown, 19 DeLavergne Ave., complainin~ about <br />the ~eneral condition of DeLavergne Ave. Copy of letter to be forwarded High- <br />way Comm. and First Ward Trustees. <br /> <br />Zoning Enforcement Officer's report for month of May~ 1970 was read showing <br />& total of $355.00 collected in fees. <br />Motion b~ Tr. Bain, seconded by Tr. Synnett that the above report be accepted <br />as read. Carried. <br /> <br />Village Justice Reilly's report for month of May~ 1970 was read showln9 a total <br />of $825.00 collected in fines. <br />Motion by Tr. DiDomlzio~ secomded by Tr. McCluskey that above report be accepted <br />as read. Carried. <br /> <br />Letter was read from Norm Breault, Planning Bd. Chairman, in reference ~o <br />lng recommendations concerning request from 5 residents on E. Main St. to re- <br />zone their parcels of property from Single Family Resid~tial to General <br />Business. The Plannin9 Bd. recommends the Village Bd. should consider re- <br />zoning of the 5 parcels to Central Business rather that the indicated General <br />Business. Reason for making recommendation is that philosophy of the overall <br />~aster Plan indicates it is desireable to have the entrance to the Village <br />attractive and of business character.~ It is also in line with proposed Zon- <br />ing Ord. <br />To be taken up under Agenda, <br /> <br /> <br />
