Regular meeting of the Village Board of Trustees was held on Wednesday, <br />San. 13, 1971 at 7T30 P.M. in the Mesier Homestead. <br /> <br />Those present: Mayor ~rnari~ Tr. DiDomisio, Tr. Valenttno, Tr. Bain, <br />Tr. Synnett, Tr. McCtuskey and Atty. Lyons. / <br />Absent: Tr. Hoolih&n. <br /> <br />Mayor Furnari opened and requested a moment of silent prayer be observed <br />in memory of Mr. JoSeph h~an, former Village Assessor, and Mr. Charles <br />L~Roy, former Village Treasurer, who recently passed away. <br /> <br />Motion by Tr. McCluskey, seconded by Tr. Synnett that meeting go out of the <br />regular order of business. Carried. <br /> <br />Mr. Parlin presented a petition to the Board on behalf o~ the residents of <br />Colony Village concerning lack of heat and other complaints. <br />He reported lack of heat has been a ma~or problem since Dec, 1 and there has <br />been no heat for approximately 15 days. <br />Mr. Parling stated owners are not abidisg by the Multiple Residence Law and <br />Many children are becoming ill. <br />He reported nttn/erous calls have been turned in to Fire Co. due to the use of <br />gas Jets and oven~. <br /> <br />Mr. Pa£lin repo~ted conferring with Zoning Enforcement Officer and an <br />inspection was .~de. <br />He stated repairs were being made and Village has the power tO enforce the <br />Multiple Reiidence Law. <br /> <br />Mr. Domars, resident af above mentioned complex, stated gas ~ets had to be <br />turned on for heat and there was no hot water. <br /> <br />Mrs. Williams, resident of Bldg. 50, reported there was a lack of heat for <br />the past three days and no hot water. <br /> <br />M~s. htou, resident, repbrted speaking to Superintendast concerning lack of <br />heat but her ~ pleas we£e i~nored. <br /> <br />Peter Moser, resident of Bldg. 60, stated trouble was in boiler and residents <br />should have been notified as to deficiencies in the heating system. <br /> <br />Atty. Lyons reported the Board sympathizes with the tenants and unofficially <br />is trying to solve same. <br />He stated the Zoning ~nforcenent Officer has a veering scheduled with the <br />owner of the apartment complex and Village could enforce Multiple Residence <br />Law, but this does not guarantee immediate relief. <br /> <br />Atty. Lyons dicussed law and stated owner could be fined if he failed to <br />comply after 30 days. He reported enforcement procedures were not the best. <br /> <br />Mayor Puroari read report submitted by Zoning Enforcement Officer regarding <br />housing heating standards. <br /> <br /> <br />
