P~blic Hearing on proposed Local Law entitled *' A Local Law fixing the <br />annual compensation of the Mayor and Trustees" was held on Wednesday, <br />May 26, 1971 at 7:00 P.M. in the Mesier Homestead. <br /> <br />Those present: Mayor Furnari~ Tro DiDo~izio, 1~. Dolan, Tr. Bain, Tr. Synnett~ <br />Tr. McCluskey~ Tr. Sulliaan and Arty, Lyons, <br /> <br />Arty. Lyons read the following netice of Public Hq. as it &ppea~ed in the <br />~. & S.D. News on t4~y 20, 1971, . <br /> <br /> Notice Is Hereby Given that a public bea~in9 will be held by ~he B~ard of <br />Trustees of the Village of Wappingers Falls~ Dutchess Countys. New York, at <br />the Nesier ~omestead in said Village on the 26th day of Mays 1971, at <br />7:00 o'clock P.M. to consider the enactment of a proposed Local Law entitled <br />"A local law fixing the annual compensation o[ the Mayor and Trustees. <br /> The proposed Local ~ is described in general ters~a as foll~ws: A Local <br />law to fix the annual conpensation of the Mayor at $2,200. and the annual <br />coa~ens~tion of each Trustee at <br /> At such public hearing all interested persons and parties will be afforded <br />an opportunity to be heard,. <br /> <br />Atty. Lyons reported that .according to the provisions of Village Law, salaries <br />must be established by Local .Law. <br /> <br />Mr. Francis tahey, addressed hearing, stating the Mayor and Trustees knew <br />what their salaries were before they took office and inquired to their duties <br />&s the Village hasn't changed that rich. <br /> <br />Atty, Lyons reported Local Law, if adopted, west be p~ssed by a ~jority vote. <br />.He stated this particaiar Local L&w~ .if adopt~ is s~Ject to ~rmissi~ <br />referendu~ ~ c~t be adopted for a ~rt~ o~ 45 days <br />pre~nt~, ~ter election. <br /> Atty.
