Regular mepting o£ the Village Board of Trustees was held on Wed., July 14, 1971 a.t 8:00 P.M. in the ~fesier Homestead. Those present: Mayor Furnari~ Tr. DiDomlzlo~ Tr. Dolan! Tr. Bain, Tr. iynnet~ Tr. McCluskey, Tr. iulli~n and Atty. Lyons. MOtiON by Tr, McCluskey, seconded by Tr. Dolan that meeting go out of the regular order of busioess. Carried. Hr. A1Rossi~ representative of Adler & Brenner, discussed progress on the .~econdary Treatment Plant. Hi? stated they are preparing speciffications and detailed drawings and ~inal plans should be finalized according to schedule. ~r. Rossi reported 2 trickling filters are to be used and this method would satisfy State requirements. He stated that by usln9 above size would be red,ced 9~000 fft.~ thus the Village would save approximately ~r. Rossi reported recelvin0 perimeter survey and a topographic survey of the site would be needed. lie stat¢~d three structures would be erected between 16 to 18 ft. in the ground and one boring would be needed ~or each structure at an approximate cost of ~r. Rossi rei~orted electrical engineers have insr~ected area and discussions held. Mr. Rossi also reported present sewer ordinance should be modified and some preliminary work has been done. He staled he wil! discuss same with r~dinqnce Comm. at a later date. Tr. DiDomlzio stated it was his understanding that by going alone, one filter would he used and Hr. Ros~t replied the Dept. o£ linvlronaenta] Conservation has favored t~? two filters as volume is red,med. Tr. Dil)omizio reported that, according to Eng. Adler~ one filter would be Jess expensive and Mr. Rossi replied one plastic £11ter would be cheaper in comparison to rock but the State prefers 2 units in a series.. Fie reported plastic flitters.have been approved by the State previously, ttty. Lyons reported it was his recollection that plasticil filter was first considered when a joint venture w~s proposed with the Town of Pouohkeepsie. lie stated it was his nod,rereading co~t would be cheaper if a rock filter was Mr. Rossi.replied rock filters need larger diameter and the}, were proposing 2 25 It. units compared to one 75 Et, rock unitm which would save money cost Attyo Lyons reported contract was too large to be handling a discussion in this Mr. Rossi reported he would have the cost break down between rock and plastic filters for the next !~oard meeting.
