The regular nesting of the Village ~oard o£ Trustees was held on Wednesdayt <br />Jan. 12, 1972 at 7:30 P.M. in the ~esier Homestead. <br /> <br />Those present: Mayor Furnari, Tr. Digomizios Tr. Dolan, Tr. Bain~ Tr. Synnett, <br />Tr. McCluskey~ Tr. Sullivan and Att¥o Lyons. <br /> <br />Motion by Tr. McCluskey. seconded by Tr. Do/an that ~eeting 9o out of the <br />regular order of business. Harvatin addressed meeting reporting residents were concerned w~th <br />traffic situations moreso now, due to the recent violent accident. <br />He stated he has w~tneseed accidents and discussed accidents which have <br /> <br />Her. HarYatin reported he assu~ed something would be done and wanted to know <br />what action would be taken, <br />He suggests the following: l) Village Police check blotter concerning accidents <br />on South Ave. 2) ~Jhat does the Village propose to do to curtail traffic <br />vlolalions on that street. <br /> <br />~ayor Furnari reported Village wasn't in position to bring in records at this <br />ti~e, but was concerned with.traffic on South Ave. He stated the Police have <br />set up radar and tried to patrol street.- <br /> <br />Tr. McCluskey reported an effort was made in trying to keep'trucks out of the <br />Village. <br /> <br />Mayor Furnari reported the State tried to divert truck trs£flc by ~he installat- <br />ion o~ signs. He suggested setting up a special me,ting to discuss this problem. <br /> <br />Char]es NcCluskey reported trucks were a source of po]lution~ but didn't <br />COnStitute a h~zard. <br />He discussed traffic violations alon9 South Ave° and repo~ted prob]e~ was <br />deeper tha~ sp~eding. <br />He stated that due to the lo~ morale ct the Police Dept,~ Vil~aqe should <br />consider CaF/t. Costa's retirement. <br /> <br />· r. Valachovic suggested initiating action through the State for the iustallation <br />of Stpp signs slang South Ave, <br /> <br />Tx, Sullivan reported ready solution was the en£ozcement of the present Speeding <br />ordinance. <br /> <br /> <br />
