Regular meeting of the Village Board of Trustees was held on t~ednesdays <br />Dec. 13~ [972 at 7:00 PoH; in the Mesler Horaestead. <br /> <br />Those present: Mayor .Furnari, Tr. D~Domizio, Tr. Ootau, Tr. Rain, Tr. Synnett, <br />'rt. ,~ulllvan~ Tro P, oolihan and At:y. Lyons. <br /> <br />Minutes n£ a Public liearing and regular meeting herd Nov. Bp 1972 had been <br />dupticaLed, and previously presented to Board ~embers. <br /> <br />Motion by ~r. Boolihan~ seconded by 'Er. Rain that the above rainutea be <br />accepted as written. Carried. <br /> <br />Mayor Furnari asked that a moment of silent prayer be observed in memory <br />former Trustee Daniel Sabia and former Village Attorney ~illiam Pears, who <br />recently passed away. <br /> <br />Petitions: None. <br /> <br />Motion by 'rt. Hoolihan, seconded hy Tr. OiOomizio that the agenda be 2aken up <br />first: Carried. <br /> <br />~r. Ben~amin Roosa~ Assemblyman elect~ addressed Board stating he preDiously <br />~erved on Town and County 1eve! and problems are similar and un£que. <br />He stated he wpuld tike to assist yillage in any way ne can., and to feel free <br />to call on him anytime. <br />Mr. Roosa reported he would have advanced notice on any proposed local laws. <br /> <br />Board o~ Representatives Contract agreement covering £unds _eot ~mproves,ent of <br />~oint Land£ill oj)utation: <br />Mayor b~rnar( reported above wou]d eliminate leach, ~nto the creek as no funds <br />were available. <br />He stated $65~OOO. would ~aave Lo be bor~o~ed as a grnup. <br /> <br />Arty. Lyon~ reported he has .proposed 9upplementa~ agreement with County and <br />5 municipalities are participating in joint sanitary [andfi]l. <br />He stated a directive was received ~om *he U.S'. Attorney that under present <br />operation creek was being polluted, <br />vt, Lyons reported that under agreement munlcipalitLes are responsible ~o~ <br />operation of the Land~ill. <br />He stated ag:camelot resolves problem of the ~unty, but not bet~en the <br />municipalities and they have to be resolve~. <br />Mr. Lyons reported that after work is completed~ pa~t2c~ting municipalities <br />agree to reimburse County Xo~a[ cost o~ expense over a ~riod oZ one year <br />in 12 equal ~nstali'uents, <br />At:y. Lyons reported that under original formula set for cap~tal ~sts <br />between municipalities Village's share was l~,ss than 4%. Under new.contract <br />Vi l].a0e's share woul. d be over 2~. He stated these tte~ are not covered <br />under pFo~sed agreement. <br /> <br />Tr. DiDomizio reported Landfill will always lose money as the Village and <br />the City o_e Poughkeepsie are the only ones that pay. <br /> <br /> <br />
