Special meeting of the Village Board of Trustees was held oa May 17~ 1973 <br />at 7rog P.M. to discuss the status of the Secondary Treatment Plant. <br /> <br />Those present: Mayor Synnett, Tr, Bain, T~, Silvestri, Tr. Hoolihan, <br />Tr. Beldieg and Atty. Lyons. <br /> <br />It was rec~ended at s County ~eetin9 that a joint co~wittee be appointed <br />consisting of mushers frae Town of Poughkeepsie, Town of ~appinger and <br />the Villaqe of Nappingers Palls to discuss the possibility of & joint <br />Secondary Treatment Plant. <br /> <br />Arty. Lyons reported Mr. Jack Hill & Mr. Censer Manfred of the DoC. <br />Health Dept. call~i weetinq to discuss a joint plant which has been <br />committed by the State on the Hudson River. <br />He reported there were no State funds for any other plans and the Towns <br />of Wappinger and Poughkeepsie have already agreed to the proposed project. <br /> <br />Atty. Lyons reported biggest complaint was engineering fees already <br />expended by the Village and the Towns have aqreed to contribute toward <br />same. <br />He stated entire project is continoent upon the grant of Federal and <br />State funds in the amount of 88~. <br />Atty. Lyons reported that it uss also recommended that $5,000. be <br />appropriated to update the Clinton-~ogert study. <br /> <br />Tr. Hoolihan atated he was s0ainst ~oint venture and recouuended contacting <br />State officials and inquire as to why fnnds have been cancelled. <br /> <br />Mayor Synnett reported that if funds weren't available for a joint <br />venture, Village would withdraw. <br /> <br />Motion by Tro Silvestri, seconded by Tr. Bain that the Village appoint <br />2 members from the Village Board to serve on conittee to investigate <br />the possibility of a joint Secondary Treatment Plant with the Towns <br />of Wappinger and Poughkeepsie. Carried - ! nay. <br /> <br />Hayor Synn~$ appointed Trustees Hoolihan and bin to the above co,~aitteeo <br /> <br />Motion by Tr. Silvestri, seconded by Tr.
