A Voting Workshop session was held on Wednesday, May 1, 2002 <br />at 7:00 PM in the ~nerican Legion. <br /> <br />Present: Mayor Ross, Tr. Cerino, Tr. Consention, Tr. Enson, Tr. <br />Weitlich, Tr. Davis and Tr. Schinella. <br /> <br />Agenda previously presented to Board. <br /> <br />Eileen Sassmann addressed meeting and said, after Village <br />adopted Comprehensive Plan, a State Law requirment was to <br />review same each year. <br />She said we had a nun~er of goals within plan, a set of <br />objectives and for each objective, a set of actions and all <br />recommendations from Comprhensive Plan are itemized in the <br />actions taken. <br />Mrs. Sassmann said she has indicated what we have started <br />since Plan was adopted and objectives for 2002. <br />She said first was Land Use goal which deals with Zoning and <br />was taken care of with Local Law ~1; two other things not <br />part of particular action was: 1. Enhanced Zoning regulations <br />(enforce Zoning regulations strictly to ensure realization of <br />Village character); 2. limit Use variances to specific <br />hardship. <br />Mrs. Sassmann said the following has been included in the <br />Index: <br />1. Maintain and enhance the residential character of Remsen <br />Ave. <br /> <br />2. We did not create a Trailer district. <br /> <br />She said, under State law, we cannot disallow trailers, but <br />we can regulate them. Should be referred to Legislative <br />Committee. <br /> <br />M~s. Sassmann said, under Enviror~nental goals, we formed <br />Watershed Inter-Municipal Council made up of 13 <br />municipalities affected by Wappingers Creek; and seek funds <br />to c~ntinue development of the Greenway; we would like to <br />create a critical Environmental area and an Estuary <br />Conservation area on the lower Creek. <br />She said we should continue with Tree Management Plan. <br /> <br />Under Transportation, Mrs. Sassmann said we have begun <br />Traffic Common devices and will be applying for grants to <br />upgrade Main Street. She said we were seeking grants for <br />Mesier Homestead and Historical Municipal Records Management, <br />have developed Master Park plan and have started improvement <br />of the parks. <br />She discussed various othe grant applications which included <br />Fire equipment and feels Village has made progress. <br /> <br /> <br />
