A Special Meeting of the Mayor and the Board of Trustees was held on Wednesday the <br />30th of April, 2003 at 7: p.m. in the American Legion Hall 7 Spring Street. <br /> <br />Roll Call: Mayor Lawrence, Deputy Mayor Juliano, Tr. Weitlech, Tr. Consentino, Tr. <br />Hilderbrand, Tr. Schilella. Tr. Enson Absent. <br /> <br />Also Present: Reverend Hunt, Attorney Louis Viglotti, Attorney James Cooms, Attorney <br />John K. Grant. <br /> <br />Pledge of allegiance. <br /> <br />Reverend Hunt asked if he could say a few words on behalf of Mr. Capra. The Mayor and <br />Board approved. <br /> <br />The Reverend reflected back on his close working relationship with Mr. Capra during his <br />years with the State Corrections Department as well as local Clergy and Government. <br />Reverend Hunt said; Mr. Capra was, and still is, a very honest and hard working <br />individual who the Reverend admired very much. Reverend Hunt also commented that <br />Mr. Capra, was and continues to be, very strong as well as fair individual. Reverend Hunt <br />views Mr. Capra as an outstanding Family Man, Citizen, Friend and a Great asset to the <br />Community. <br /> <br />In summary after many kind remarks on Mr. Capra's behalf, the Reverend asked all in <br />attendance to kindly use your best judgment and not be persuaded by a few who wish to <br />tarnish Mr. Capra's reputation. The Reverend would like all of us to recognize that Mr. <br />Capra is the right person for the job as Commissioner and from your heart put this matter <br />behind you for the sake of his Family and the Betterment of the Community. <br /> <br />The Board thanked the Reverend for his kind remarks. <br /> <br />During the Reverend's remarks Tr. Enson arrived. <br /> <br />Mayor Lawrence moved to go into Executive Session seconded by Deputy Mayor <br />Juliano. Carried. <br /> <br />Motion by Tr. Weitlich to remm to the Regular Special Meeting seconded by Deputy <br />Mayor Juliano. Carded. <br /> <br />Attorney Cooms wanted it to be very clear that the discussions during the Executive <br />Session were about Mr. Capra and discussed in great detail. <br /> <br />Deputy Mayor Juliano made a motion to bring Commissioner Capra back to his position <br />as Police Commissioner for a three year period effective today 30 April, 2003 at an <br />annual salary of $35000.00 plus a 3.5% increase each year thereafter for the remaining <br />two years which would end 30 April, 2006.Seconded by Mayor Lawrence. <br /> <br /> <br />
