Publ~_Hta~ing on the proposed 1983-84 Village budget was held on 4-13-83 <br />a7 '/. U~) <br /> <br />Present: Mayor Synnett, T]~. Greco, Tr. Cioppam Tr. Costa (absent-due to <br />illness), Tr. Mazochi, Tr. Brown, Tr. Carey, Atty. Lyons~ Treasurer CAmpilii <br />and Engineer Paggi. <br /> <br />Treasurer Campilii reported preliminary discussions were held for submiSSion <br />of the final budget and tentative tax rate has been set at $57.78 per thousand. <br />He stated there was a proposed 10~ increase in salaries and ViIlage lost <br />$405,000 in assessed value and $1g,800. in revenues. <br />Treasurer Campilii reported the following increases for various departments: <br /> <br />Deputy Village Clerk $12,500. <br />Police 2,OO0. <br />Fire 2,OO0. <br />Highway 16,000. <br />Recreation 7,300. <br />Library 2,000. <br />Sewer 16,0OO. <br />Disposal 2,000. <br />Retirement & Medical 9,000. <br /> <br />He stated the Route 9D project would cost an additional $17,000. and Village <br />ost $12~000. in additional revenues. <br /> <br />Mr. Barton inquired as to lost assessed valuation and Atty. Lyons replied <br />t~is involved action by taxpayers whereby the Supreme Court reduced assessments. <br /> <br />Treasurer Campilii reported tax collection rate was at 97~. <br /> <br />Mrs. Masterson inquired as to 10% increase in salaries when other municipalities <br />were getting between 7% and 8~. <br />She also inquired as to increase in Rec:eation budget by $7300. and Mayor <br />Synnett replied funding for same was received from the County. <br /> <br />Atty. Lyons reported proposed use for Federal Revenue Sharing funds should <br />be discussed seperately.
