The Regularly Scheduled Meeting of the Mayor and the Village Board of Trustees was <br />held on Wednesday, December 10, 2003 beginning at 7:30 PM at the American Legion <br />Hall, 7 Spring Street, Wappingers Falls, NY, 12590. <br /> <br />PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE <br /> <br />ROLL CALL <br />Attendance: Mayor Lawrence, Deputy Mayor Juliano, Tr. Enson, Tr. Weitlich, Tr. <br />Hilderbrand, Tr. Schinella. Tr. Consentino absent due to hospitalization. <br /> <br />ACTION ON THE MINUTES: <br />Motion by Tr. Weitlich to adopt the minutes of November 12th, 19th and 25th meetings. <br />Seconded by Tr. Juliano: All in favor. Carried. <br /> <br />AUTHORIZATION OF PAYMENT OF AUDITED BILLS <br />Motion by Tr. Weitlich to authorize payment of all audited bills. Seconded by Tr. <br />Juliano. Carried. <br /> <br />Previous Business: <br />Letter was read from Veronica Robinson, Recreation Commission, regarding the <br />Tree Lighting in Mesier Park on NoVember 30th. The tree lighting was a success and <br />enjoyed by all: She then thanked all who assisted to make the lighting a success. <br />Mayor Lawrence stated there was a good showing. Everyone enjoyed the, music <br />by Johnny Dell. Mayor Lawrence also stated that Ms. Robinson, Al Ford and John <br />Regan should be thanked for their efforts. <br />Donations of $127.62 was collected. <br /> <br />Mayor Lawrence then thanked Tom and Paula Kastanis and their committee for <br />the lighting of the Christmas Tree along with caroling which was held on December <br />6th, despite the snow and cold weather. Some 50 people attended. Refreshments <br />were served and a good time was had by all. <br /> <br />Discussion with Fire Chief Steve Paino relative to fire apparatus bids. <br />Fire Chief Paino stated that he had approached the Board for their approval to obtain <br />bids. He stated that he had received 5 inquiries with one actual bid placed. After a <br />meeting with the Fire Commission, this bid was accepted. A new engine is needed as <br />the truck being used at present is 28 years old. The bid received was for the amount <br />bid received was for the amount' of $415,735. <br />Tr. Juliano questioned if this bid is negotiable: <br />Chief Paino stated that $6500 would have to be put down and payments would <br />be made over a 7 year period. The truck is a 2004. <br />Tr. Weitlich pointed out that they have 90 days to accept the bid. He suggested <br />that the Board consider the proposal for one month and in January a vote can be <br />taken. <br />Tr. Juliano inquired as to whether interest is negotiable. <br />Chief Paino replied that he did not think so as specs were put out to bid. <br /> <br /> <br />
