THE REGULARLY SCHEDULED MEETING OF THE MAYOR AND THE VILLAGE BOARD <br />OF TRUSTEES WAS HELD ON WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 14, 2004 BEGINNING AT 7:30 P.M., <br />AT THE AMERICAN LEGION HALL, 7 SPRING STREET, WAPPINGERS FALLS, NY 12590 <br /> <br />PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE. <br /> <br />Tr. Juliano requested a moment of prayer for the brother of Tr. Enson who is hospitalized <br />at this time. <br />Tr. Enson thanked all for their prayers and concern and stated his brother is doing as well <br />as can be expected at this time. <br /> <br />Roll Call: Mayor Lawrence; Deputy Mayor Juliano; Tr. Enson, Tr. Weitlich, Tr. <br />Hilderbrand, Tr. Schinella, Tr. Consentino. All present. <br /> <br />ACTION ON MINUTES: <br />Motion by Tr. Weitlich, seconded by Tr. Enson to adopt the minutes of the December <br />10, 2003 meeting. All in favor. Carried. <br /> <br />AUTHORIZATION OF PAYMENT OF AUDITED BILLS: <br />Motion by Tr. Weitlich to authorize payment of all audited bills, with a double"signature, <br />with the exception of bill from Thomas Eglit, Accountant, who did work for the Village, <br />until he remits detailed statement of work done. <br />Seconded by Tr. Juliano All in favor. Carried. <br /> <br />PREVIOUS BUSINESS: <br /> <br />FINANCE COMMITTEE: Report on Condition of Village Finances. <br />Tr. Weitlich stated on January 13, 2004, the Finance Committe met with Linda Hannigan <br />of Sedore and Company. This is the first time in 10 months that he can understand <br />statements, ledgers, etc. Documentation has not been done properly, getting copies of <br />statements was difficult. Sedore and Co. are getting financial matters back on the right <br />track. Committee Chairpersons, and this is not a reflection on anyone, have to be more <br />observant. <br />Tr. Schinella asked what could be done. <br />Tr. Weitlich stated spending has to be curbed. <br />Discussion followed regarding listing of expenditures, statements, etc. <br />Tr. Schinella stated that it is good to see where the money is being spent. <br />Tr. Weitlich stated spending should be controlled. While checks are coming in, money is <br />still going out. <br />Tr. Juliano stated that a new budget will soon be proposed. <br />Tr. Weitlich replied that until the adoption of a new budget, spending should be curbed. <br />Mayor Irawrence stated-that money, through grant application, has been applied for and <br />forthcorhing to the Village. <br />Discussion followed. <br /> <br />LEGISLATIVE: <br /> <br /> <br />
