The Regular Meeting of the Mayor and the Village Board of Trustees was <br />held on Wednesday, June 9, 2004 at 7:30 P.M., in the American Legion Hall, <br />7 Spring Street, Wappingers Falls, New York 12590 <br /> <br />PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE <br /> <br />Mayor Lawrence requested a moment of silence for President Ronald Reagan; Joseph <br />Eagen, former member and Chairman of the Planning Board; and also for Mrs. Rose <br />Visentin, Grandmother of Tr. Vistentin, who was an active member with the firehouse <br />and other activities in the Village. <br />Mayor Lawrence then stated that the Village Hall would be closed on Friday due to the <br />funeral of President Reagan. <br /> <br />'ROLL CALL: Mayor Lawrence; Deputy Mayor Juliano; Tr. Enson; Tr. Cerino; Tr. <br />Visentin; Tr. Hilderbrand. Tr. Marshall was absent. <br /> <br />ACTION ON MINUTES: May 12, 2004. <br /> <br />Motion by Deputy Mayor Juliano to accept the minutes of the May 12t~ meeting. <br />Seconded by Tr. Visentin. All in favor. Carded. <br /> <br />AUTHORIZATION OF PAYMENT OF AUDITED BILLS. <br /> <br />Motion by Tr. Juliano, Tr. Cerino' he would second the motion but he has a question~ <br />He stated that the bill for the cleanup should probably moved from contingency to pay <br />that. It is $6500. This is the cleanup from Industrial Park. · <br />Tr. Juliano stated he would rephrase his motion and move to accept the bills as audited <br />and put the emergency cleanup from the fire at the Industrial Park be paid from <br />contingency. Seconded by Tr. Cerino. AH in favor, carried. <br /> <br />Mayor Lawrence then introduced Johna Eisgmber, Village Treasurer, and stated that she <br />is taking the place of John Karge who is away at school. <br /> <br />Recognition for a fine job by f'lrefighters at Industrial Park <br />Mayor Lawrence stated that he would like to recognize the Village of Wappingers Falls <br />Fire Department and that would be S.W. Johnson and W.T. Garner for the outstanding <br />job they did at the time of the fire at the Industrial Park in the Village of Wappingers <br />Falls. The job was outstanding. Mayor Lawrence then asked if Fire Chief Paine was in <br />attendance. <br />Tom Burke, Asst. Chief, stated that Mr. Paino was not here. <br />Mayor Lawrence then stated when the alarm went off he was in Fishkill and he was <br />notified that there was a major fire in the Village a~n~ when he came up, he could not get <br />up Route 9D and he came up Creek Road. As he came up to Industrial Park, there was a <br />mass of trucks set up in place, mostly aerials, ladders and he was amazed the way it was <br />set up and everything was carried through by the firefighters, and the Fire Chief and the <br /> <br /> <br />
