The Regularly Scheduled Meeting of the Mayor and Village Board of Trustees was <br />held on Wednesday, FebruarY 9, 2005 at thc American Legion Hall, 7 Spring Street, <br />Wappingers Falls, New York 12590 <br /> <br />Meeting was called to order 7:30 P.M. <br /> <br />PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE. <br /> <br />ROLL CALL: Mayor Lawrence, Deputy Mayor Juliano, Tr. Enson, Trl Cerino, Tr. <br />Marshall, Tr. Hilderbrand, Tr. Visentin. All present. <br /> <br />ACTION ON MINUTES: January 12, 2005. <br />Motion by Tr. Marshall to accept the minutes as written. Seconded by Tr. Cerino. <br />All in favor. Carried. <br /> <br />AUTHORIZATION TO PAY BILLS AS PER APPROVED WARRANT. <br />Motion by Tr. Juliano to pay bills as per approved warrant. Seconded by Tr. Enson. <br />Tr. Cerino stated he would vote to pay the bills. There is one bill though that has to be <br />discussed in Executive Session. <br />All in favor. Carried. <br /> <br /> Previous Business: <br /> Discussion relative to bi-weekly pay periods. Village Employees, Tr. Marshall. <br /> Motion by Tr. Hilderbrand to rescind last month's motion to go to bi-weekly paychecks <br /> and stay with weekly paychecks. Seconded by Tr. Marshall. <br /> All in favor. Carried. <br />Mayor Lawrence stated this is a wise decision given the fact it was done so quick. The <br />next Board can discuss this. Right now it is tabled. <br />Tr. Juliano stated this is a done deal. It is weekly paychecks. Is that correct? <br />Mayor replied yes. ' <br />Tr. Juliano stated this is a good thing and he's not running. The thing is that these people <br />live week to week on these paychecks. These are not gigantic salaries. He told Tr. <br />Cerino how he felt about that. He hopes the next Board that comes in doesn't try to make <br />it two weeks. He sincerely hopes this does not happen. He's for the weekly paychecks <br />and he thanks the employees for coming in. <br /> <br /> Discussion relative to the Ethics Committee activity tabled 10/04. Tr. Visentin <br />Tr. Visentin stated he gave the motion to the Board. He eventually wants to get this in <br />place and put it to a vote. <br />Motion reads "to establish a 5 member Board of Ethics to be selected from the list of 10 <br />ten candidates distributed at a previous Board. meeting. This Board of Ethics will be <br />advisory only and not have the power of law. It will be accessible by ay Village citizen, <br />employee of the Village or any person doing business with the Village Board. The <br />Village Attorney and Village Clerk will serve the Board of Ethics as advisors only. The <br />Board of Ethics will develop its guidelines of operation based on the Town of <br />Poughkeepsie model (also previously distributed to all Village Board Members) and <br /> <br /> <br />
