Regular Meeting of the Mayor and Village Board of Trustees was held on <br />Wednesday, November 9, 2005 in the American Legion Hall, 7 Spring Street, <br />Wappingers Falls, NY 12590 <br /> <br />Meeting called to order 7:00 P.M. <br /> <br />PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE <br /> <br />ROLL CALL: Mayor Lawrence; Tr. Weitlich; Tr. Cerino; Tr. Chase (Personal leave); <br />Tr. Marshall; Tr. Hilderbrand; Tr. Visentin (Absent). (Please note that Tr. Visentin <br />arrived after Roll Call was completed.) <br /> <br /> ACTION ON MINUTES: October 12, 2005. <br />Mayor Lawrence stated he had a couple of questions on them which he has right here. <br />They spoke about this last year about the term of a contract. Everyone has a copy of the <br />Th Municipal from NYCOM. This states they gave no letter as to what they are going to <br />say or do. In the last 3 columns it says Attorney ethics, confidentiality, etc., it says you <br />should go with the local attorney who is on the Village Board. This is a breakdown of <br />this one thing. He asked last week and they talked about it if he could get a letter from <br />NYCOM or whoever stating that the contracts we have are not legal and he is questioning <br />that. He wants to see a letter about that. He will talk about it in Executive Session. He <br />wants the letter for his own interest and the Village Board. <br />Tr. Cerino stated the Mayor is welcome to the Attorney General's opinion relative to this. <br />Mayor stated he wrote the Attorney General last year and he has not received a letter <br />from him yet. <br />Tr. Cerino stated Tr. Visentin could provide him with that, the Attorney General's ruling. <br />Mayor said he wants it. <br />Tr. Cerino stated this is not new law. <br />Mayor stated he is not saying that. <br />Tr. Marshall stated it would be discussed in Executive Session. <br />Tr. Cerino stated the law is 102 years old. <br />Motion by Tr. Weitlich to approve the minutes of the October 12th meeting as written. <br />Seconded by Tr. Marshall. All in favor. Carded. <br /> <br />AUTHORIZATION TO PAY BILLS AS PER APPROVED WARRANTS. <br /> <br />Tr. Weitlich stated he would like to make a motion to do New Business first, It was <br />seconded by Tr. Marshall. All agreed. <br />Clerk asked if they wanted to do this before they authorized the payment of bills? <br />All replied yes. <br /> <br />NEW BUSINESS: <br />Clerk stated he received a letter from the Downtown Special Events Committee and <br />Matt Alexander is here to discuss it this evening. <br />Mr. Alexander stated this committee is a group of people whose main interest is bringing <br />people into the downtown area; the central business district and they try to create events <br /> <br /> <br />
