The regular meeting of the Village Board of Trustees was held on Wednesday, <br />October 12, 1983 at 7:30 P.M. in the American Legion Hall. <br /> <br />Present: Mayor Synnett, Tr. Cioppa, Tr. Costa, Tr. Mazochi, Tr. Carey, <br />Tr. Perrego and Atty. Lyons. <br />Tr. Greco absent due to illness. <br /> <br />Mayor Synnett requested a moment of' silent prayer be observed in memory <br />of Terence Cardinal Cooke who recently passed away. <br /> <br />Jean DiPolito present to hear discussion on the Merry, god dr~inag~ situation. <br /> <br />Mr. Buckley inquired if Village antici~pated any changes in the parking on <br />Dutchess ~wr. <br /> <br />Mayor Synnett reported Wappingers Central School does not control ~arking <br />in the Village and we were in receipt of petition concerning request for <br />no parking on the westerly side of the street. <br />He stated that, before any action is taken, a legal notice must be published <br />and a Public Hg. scheduled. <br /> <br />Tr. Mazochi reported petition has been received objecting to the banning <br />parking on Dutchess Ave. <br /> <br />Mr. Komornik, resident of Dutchess Terr., reported no problems on street <br />in years passed and ambulances and Fire trucks were easily accessable. <br />He stated there was a playground in the area and inquired where would cars <br />park. <br /> <br />Mrs. Martinez, resident of Dutchess Ave., reported there were nine houses <br />on the street and inquired where would cars park if parking was changed on <br />Dutchess Terr. She submitted petition opposing same. <br /> <br />issue referred to Legislative Comm. for further study and to report back <br />with reco~amendations. <br /> <br />Report on r4err~vond drainage: <br />In reference to the Town Of Poughkeepsie suit, Village Clerk reported he <br />spoke to Mr. McGowan and he advised that the Town had allocatted $18,000. <br />towards a study of the problem and the Town Engineers were working on same, <br /> <br />Atty. Lyons reported he instruct~ HcCabe and Mack to initiate ag injunction <br />in an effort to stop any new connections. <br /> <br />Mayor Synnett reported problem has existed for the last 15 years and no <br />action has been taken 6r written reports received. He suggested hiring another <br />attorney. <br /> <br />Attorney recommended scheduling a meeting to discuss same. Meeting scheduled <br />for Oct. 17, 1983 at 7:00 P.M. <br /> <br /> <br />
