The regularly scheduled meeting of the Village Board of Trustees was held on Wednesday, April g, 1987 at 7:30 p.m. at the Village Hall on Spring S~. Present: Mayor Synnett, Trustees Alfonso, Greco, Hemingway, Komornik, and Todaro (Tr. Silvestri absent due to illness)~ also present: Att'y Viglotti. Communications: Village Justice's report for March 1987 showing $4,372.00 collected in'fines. -Motion by Tr. Alfonso, seconded by Tr. Komornik that the above report be accepted~-carried. Zoning Officer's report for March 1987 showing $1,548.25 collected in fees. -Motion by Tr. Alfonso, seconded by Tr. Komornik that the above report be accepted£-carried. Letter from the United Methodist Church requesting the use of Mesier Park for an early morning Easter Service. Motion by Tr. Alfonso, seconded by Tr. Hemingway that permission be granted;-carried. Letter from Pete Sanfilippo requesting that $215.00 be appro- priated to defer the expenses of the McDonald Run. Motion by Tr. Komornik, seconded by Tr. Hemingway to make said appro- priation;-carried. Letter from Hank DiMarco re correspondence with the Gov. re a proposed River Rd. construction project. The Mayor suggested that a committee be formed to work with Mr. DiMarco to follow-up on thia as it would relieve traffic congestion through the Village. Mr. DiMarco explained that the Dutchess County Planning Board had requested the New York State Department of Trans- portation to conduct a feasibility study. He stated that this would address a need as a road along the river could draw through traffic, leaving Route 9 for commercial and business traffic; Mr. DiMarco requested the support of the Village Board for this proposed route. Tr. Alfonso suggested that the Mayor work with Mr. DiMarco on this. Motion by Tr. Greco, seconded by Tr. Komornik that that the Mayor follow-up on the progress of the River Rd. proposal with Mr. DiMarco;-carried. Letter from the D.C. Commissioner of Planning re proposed landscaping for the DOT Rte 9 Project. The Mayor explained that this had been proposed some months ago and involved the installation of a median mall on Rte 9 by DOT provided that the Village would agree to under- take the subsequent maintainance. Tr. Alfonso observed that if the County was interested in a median mall, the County could maintain it. Tr. Greco stated that the Village had already committed to costs in regard to the project in reference to certain water and sewer "betterments", sidewalks, and lights. Motion by Tr. Greco, seconded by Tr. Alfonso that the Village decline in respect of maintaining a proposed median strip;-carried.
