Special meetin9 of the Village Board of Trustees was held on Nov. 8, 1969 <br />at 11:45 A.M. in the Mesier Homestead. Re: Action on Auditors Report. <br /> <br />Those present: Mayor Furnari, Tr. DiDomizio~ Tr. Bain, Tr. Fries~ Tr. <br />Cheetham, Tr. Hoollhan and Atty. Lyons. <br /> <br />Motion by Tr. Fries, seconded by Tr. Bain that recommendation be made <br />that the Water Board direct the Village Atty. to institute proceedings <br />to collect under bond. <br /> <br />Motion by Tr. Hoolihan, seconded by Tr. DiDomizion that the following <br />statement be adopted: <br /> <br />On Nov. 4~ 1969, we received from the Department of Audit and Control a <br />report of the recent examination of the fiscal affairs of the Village. A <br />copy of this report is on file with the Village Clerk and available <br />for inspection by all interested persons. The examination discloses <br />a cash shortage of $3~689.22 in the Water Department over the report <br />period. This shortage occurred during The employment of a clerk who is <br />no longer with the Village~ and we have been assured by the AudiTors <br />that no present Village employee was in any manner involved. <br />The Board would like to thank the Department of Audit and Control for the <br />thorough and competent manner in which the examination was conducted~ <br />and tO assure the Taxpayers of the Village that the shortage involves <br />no loss to them. All municipal employees who handle public moneys are <br />bonded, and immediate proceedings will he taken to recover under such <br />bond. <br />The Board would also like to publicly absolve the present employees of <br />the Village Water Department and all of the Water Commissioners, past <br />and present, from any hin~ of fault or blame. <br /> <br />Resolution adopted. <br /> <br />Motion by Tr.
