A Ptlblic Hearing on the proposed 1997-98 Village budget was held on April 9, 1997 <br />at 7:15 P.M. in the American Legion Hall. <br /> <br />Present: Mayor Belding, Tr. DiDomizio, Tr. Cerino, Tr. Marshall, Tr. Lawrence, <br />Tr. Goebel, Tr. Hemingway. <br /> <br />Mayor Belding reported Board was in the process of meeting with Department heads <br />to discuss budget requests a~d, based on these quotations, taxes ~uld tentative- <br />ly increase by 16.58%. <br />He stated tax base b~ been reduced and revenues were scmewhat lower, due to <br />the sale of the Route 9 property not being finalized. <br /> <br />Mayor Belding also reported appropriations have increased, in part, due to commit- <br />ments outlined in the Police and Public ~brks contracts. <br /> <br />_Mrs. Cindy Latino, secretary for the Wappingers Falls Business & Professional <br />Association, on behalf of Mr. Stanley Straub, president, addressed Board and <br />outlined the organization's achievements, including many projects which have <br />epJlanced the Village. <br />She said they were seeking the Village's financial support. <br /> <br />(Copy of report on file at the Vilage Hall) <br /> <br />Mayor Belding reported this particular budgetary item had not yet ~n discussed. <br /> <br />It was pointed out that Village's CHIPS funding had been utilized at the }lill <br />STreet parking lot. <br /> <br />Mrs. Latino reported Village's contribution ~uld be used mostly for Consultant, <br />whose services were nccded for grant applications and all the Association's <br />proposals w~re localized projects. <br /> <br />Public Hearing closed 7:30 <br /> <br />Village Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
