The regular meeting of the Board of Trustees was held at the Mesier <br /> Homestead on Wednesday Evening January 9th. I946 at 7;3© P.M. . . <br /> <br /> ~Those present; Trustee Pa~i, Temple, Kane, Berinato. Ter~villiger,M~yor <br /> McCa~fferty,Atty. Schofiel~~& Treas. LeRoy. Absent Trustee Riley. <br /> <br /> MeetinM called to order. Roll Call. The minutes of the previous regular <br /> meeting were read. Upon motion by Trustee Kane and seconded by Trustee <br /> Paggi tho minutes stand adopted as read. <br /> <br /> $ 255I' ApplicatiOn for reaooointment of Registrar of Vital Statistics <br /> was read from Mrs. Edith ~.-Tanner. Motion by Trustee Paggi and seconded <br /> by Trustee Berinato the ss)me be reappointed for the term of four years. <br /> <br /> #2552. Dr. O'Brien Healt~ officer submitted the following report for the <br /> month of December. There were a great deal of illness during the month of <br /> december. In fact there w~s and still is an epedemio of grippe(Influmama <br /> I th~ink in the number of cases,this epedemic was second to that of IgI~ <br /> however most cases were of a mild nature with low fever and characterized <br /> by pains over the larynx and croupy cough with more than ordinary amount <br /> of weakness. Some cases did Not show very high fever with symptoms sugg- <br /> esting pneumonia and which responded to the sulfa drugs. While in the co- <br /> unty the~e were a few cases of d~ptheria none reported from the village. <br /> One case of strepto coccus sore throat was reported to your health officem <br /> The ma~t~r of the nuisance of soft coal smoke from the General Case Co. <br /> was referred to the Bos~rd as a nuisance~ Your Health officer contacted Mr. <br /> Stahl of the Stahl Co~l Co. and he promise~ to give the factory anthracite <br /> co~l as' soon as possible. In the last two weeks the health officer did not <br /> no~tice the dense smoke pouring from the chimney of the factory. The health <br /> wrote several letters to ~the coal dealers requesting coal ~or families who <br /> were out of coal and really suffering in their household where there were <br /> old folks and babies, as yet do not know whather the families have been <br /> suppliee~.~ Motion by Trustee K'an-e and seconded by Trustee Paggi the re- <br />port be accepted as read. <br /> <br /> $ 2553. Police Justice Beg~ report was read for the month of December <br />announcing that the sum of ~ IO.OO collected in fines was forward to the <br /> State Dept. as to Eomply with the new law. Motion by Trustee Kane and <br /> seconded by Truste,~ Temple the report be accepted as read, <br /> <br /> $ 2554-2555. A card of thanks w~s received from the Widow of the late Joe. <br />A.Wallwork ex-trustee and also from the widow of the late Thos. Trabucco,Sr. <br /> ex-Judge. Motion by Trustee Paggi and seconded by Trustee Berinato the <br /> same~be accepted and filed. <br /> <br /> ~2556. Liability and prooert¥ damage policy on~ the Chevrolet dump truck <br />!was received from Agent D~D.B~asley for renewal. <br /> <br />$ 2557. Fire Insurance poricy on the Mack & LaFranoe fire apparatus was <br />received from Agent D.D.Beasley for renewal. Motion by Trustee Temple and <br />secol~ied by Trustee Paggi the policies be renewed and the bills ordered <br />paid. <br /> <br />$255~. A communication was read from the W.T.Garner Eng. Co.~I announcing <br />that Joseph FleminM, Gerald A. Traver and Leslie' Delaney was elected to <br />active membership.
