The Regular meeting of the Board of Trustees was held at the Mesier H~TM <br />stead on W~dnesday Evening ~iarch, 6tl~. I946~ at 7;-3© P.~. <br /> <br />Those present. Trustee Pag~l, Riley, Temple,Kane, Berinato,Terwilliger, <br />~ayor ~cCaf£erty~Treas. I~eRoy. Absent. Atty. Schofield. <br /> <br />Meeting called to order. Roll call. The minutes of the previous regular <br />meeting were r~ad. upon motion by Trustee Riley and s~conded by Trustee <br />Temple the minutes stand adopted as read. <br /> <br />2589. Police Justice Begg report for the month of February was read annottu, <br />oing that the sum of $ 20.00 collected in fines were sent to the State <br />.Dept. as to comply with the new law. <br /> <br /> 2590· Health Officer Dr. O'Brieh report for the month of January was read <br /> as followed. The epidemic of influenza which started in December was stl] <br /> raging str~ng during the month of January, most cases were a mild nature <br /> but some ran a light fever a great many oases felt extreme weakness even <br /> after a very few days of illness the majority Of the cases suffered from <br /> a form of laryngitis with croupy cough. There were,three cases of strept- <br /> coccus sore throat reported during the month. No oases of pneumonia were <br /> reported altho I believe there were several cases in the village. One com- <br /> plaint received regarding backing up,of sewer in a residence on ~arket St. <br /> this was taken care of by the landlord and condition~remedied. The latter <br /> part of the month the influenza .tapered off a great deal but there are <br /> still quite a number of cases especially in children. <br /> <br /> 259I. Health Officer Dr. O'Brien report for the month of February was read <br /> as followed. The month of February there were a great lessenin~ of the num- <br />ber of influenza Cases but there were usual number of colds and few cases of <br /> mumps which were of mild nature. No contagious disease were reported to <br /> your health officer during the month. There were few cases of stomach <br /> oases which some people thought was due to the milk or water supply. These <br /> cases were found to be cases of intestinal influenza. Water sample was <br /> col'ec~ed and sent to Albany for examination and report received was very <br /> satisfactory as usual. ~otion by Trustee Berinato and seconded by Trustee <br /> Terwilliger the report of the Police Justice and Health offficer be accepte~ <br /> as read. <br /> <br />2592. A Com~unication was read from The W.T.Garner Engine Co.,#I announcing <br />that the following were Blected to active membership. Anthony Lope~,Russell <br />Eagan, Anthony De Marco and Rino Daniele. ~lso requesting a five years <br />exemption certificate flor Stephen J. Secore and Dwight Robbins. ~otion <br />by Trustee Berinato and seconded by Trustee Kane the members be confirmed <br />and the certificates granted. <br /> <br />2593. A Communication was read from-the S.W.Johnson Engine Co.$2 announoin <br />that the following were elected to active membership. Thcs. Ciarfella,Jos. <br />Canals,Nicholas Garnot and Ernest Houston. ~otion by Trustee Riley and sec <br />~nded by Trustee Terwilliger the members be conf&rmed. <br /> <br />#259~. Bond for renewal for the collector of water rents was received from <br />the Board of W~ter Con'~nissioners for approval. ~otion by Trustee Riley <br />and s'econded by Trustee Temple the b~d be approve~ and filed. <br /> <br /> 2595. A com~unioation was read fro~ the Village Clerks association of the <br />State of New York requestin~ the Board to approve of the bill for placing <br />all village clerks under civil service. <br /> <br /> <br />
