107 <br />The Regular meeting of the Board of Trustees was held at the Mesier Home- <br />stead on ~ednesday Evening, ~eptember. 4th. I9~6, at 7;30 P.M. <br /> Those preset; Trustee Pa~gi, Riley, Temple, Kane, Berinato,Terwilliger, <br />Mayor McCafferty,Treasurer LeRoy. Absent; Atty. $chofield. <br /> <br />The meeting called to order. Roll call. The minutes of the previous re~zla~ <br />meeting were read. Upon motion by Trustee Kane and seconded by TrusteeRil ~e <br />the minutes stand adopted as read. <br /> <br /> $ 2703. Police Justice Beg~ report for the month of~August w~s read announ- <br /> cing that the sum of $ ITI.O0 collected in fines and bonds were sent to the <br /> State Dept. to comply with the new law. Motion by Trustee Riley and second- <br /> ed by Trustee PagMi the report be accepted as read. <br /> <br />i$ 2704. A oomunioation was read fro~:~ the W.T.Garner Eng. Co.$I requesting <br />a five years exemption certificate for Thcs. Natoli. Motion by T~seeeKXa~e <br />land seconded by Trustee Berinato the same 'be granted. <br />i$ 2705. A card of thanks was received from the family of the late ex-pres- <br />ident' John MacDonald. Mo~ion by Trustee Riley and seconded by Trustee <br />Terwilliger the same be accepted and filed. <br /> <br /> $ 2706. A communication was read from the Public Service Commission announ- <br /> cing that the commission on August 8th. adopted an order in proceeding fix- <br /> in~ and establishing Just and reasonable fares for tranepotation of passen- <br /> gers by the Po'keepsie & Wal~p'grs Falls Railway Co., Motion by Trustee Rile <br /> and seconded by TrUstee Temple the'Board of Trustees go on record opposing <br /> any increase in fares for the Railway 0o. <br /> <br /> $ 2707. Liability and property damage 'policy on Co.2 Fire apparatus was <br /> r~ceived from Agent. D. D. Beasley for renewal. Motion by Trustee Terwill- <br /> i~er and seconded by Trustee Riley the policy be renewed and the bill ord- <br /> ered paid. <br /> <br /> $ 2708. Police Officer Eagan, DiBerto and Costa report for the month Of. <br /> A~gust was received and ordered filed. <br /> <br /> No report received from the Health Of~icer for the month of August. <br /> <br />C~airman Kane of the Highway Committee reported progress; Under the head <br />o$ this report Mayor McCafferty reported that he had received a letter <br />from the War Asse~s Adminstration listing 36 inch corrugated drain pip~ <br />$i $ 1,53 per Ft. and if the gauge is right this would be a cheaper price <br />Ban what the ealesman prese~t at the meeting offered whose price was <br /> · 3.~6 per ft. and extra cost for the collars. Mayor McOs~fferty suggested <br /> Shat we hold a special meeting on Sept. IIth. and by that time we will <br /> know what the gauge of pipe' is as the clerk forwarded a letter requesting <br /> ~he e~e. <br /> <br /> Chairman Riley of the Electric Light Committee reported that the Centra~ <br />Hudson G & E have made the change over of the street lights authorized by <br />the Board. <br /> <br />Chairman Temple of the Fire Committee reported progrees; <br /> <br />Trustee Fane a member of the Water Board reported that the Board of Water <br />Commissioners had decided to give the water tank on Roy's Hill a coat of <br />paint and a cleaning on the inside of the tank and the cost would be the <br /> sum of $ IIOO.O0 according to the bid received. ~he question came be- <br /> fore the meeting whether the water board had the right to spend this <br /> <br /> <br />
