¸27 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Trustees was held at the M. esier ~ome-- <br />istead on Wednesday Evening, December ~th. I9~6, at 7;3© ?.~. <br /> <br />Those present; Trustee Paggi,Riley, Kane, Berinato,Terwilliger,Acting May- <br />or Temple, Atty. Schofield, Treas. LeRoy. Absent; ~ayor Helen McCaffferty. <br /> <br /> The meeting was called to order. Roll Call. The minutes of th.e previous <br />ire~ular and special .~eeting were read. Upon motion by Trustee Kane and <br /> s~conded by Trustee Berinato the minutes stands adopted as read. <br /> <br />iActing Maxtor Temple announced that the regular order of business be dis- <br />~pensed with in order to hear from those present who wishes to speak before <br /> the members of the Board. <br /> <br />The question o~me before~ the meeting in regards to the proposed "No Park- <br />lng" ordinance for West ~ain St. Givane Ave. and Mesier Avenue, Acting Mayo: <br />Temple requested if anyone wishes to offer ams objections in regards to <br />the proposed ordinance. Mr. Cha$. Miller remarked that the proposed <br />ordinance for the Easterly side of West ~ain Street was going to drive <br />business away from his restaurant as the cars would not be allowed topark <br />i in front of his restaurant. Acting Mayor r~marked that we must have eno <br /> parkinge on this side of West ~ain Street. Trustee K~ne remarked that the <br /> proposed ordinances was not only for congestion of traffic on this partio- <br />iular street but it was also for safety and to avoid accidents on this hill <br />· It was suggested why not adopt a staggering system of parking at this side <br />of West Main Street. Acting ~ayor Temple remarked that this so called <br />staggering system was tried out before without success.. <br /> <br /> Mr. Hops a representative of 'the General Case Co.located on Mesier Ave. <br /> requested nermis~ion to speak and he remarked that he .was not interested <br />in who made-the 'complaint about the parking on Mesier Ave. as the people <br />i residing on the west side of Mesier avenue gave permission to the employ- <br />'ess of his company to park their cars in front of their homes on the <br /> westerly side of Mesier Ave. that the members of t. he Board according to' <br /> the proposed ordinance restrict parking on this side and the employees <br /> will have to park on the Easter~ly side of Mesier Ave. which will blo. ck the <br /> other side of the street where most of the houses are located. Trustee <br /> E~ne su~Tgested why not have some of the employees to park their oars on <br /> one side of academy street. Mr. Hops replied that this would block the <br /> large trucks and trailers from entering in on the .grounds to load and un- <br /> load. Mr. Hops suggested that in regards to the West Main Street, why <br /> not post signs and allow only one hour parking. It Was remarked that. this <br /> was tried before and did not work out. <br /> <br /> Acting ~ayor Temple suggested that the members of the Board make up their <br />mind and decide what they intend to do about the ordinance as we will be <br />here all night discussing the matter and the business of the meeting is <br />being delayed. <br /> <br />On motion by T~'ustee Riley and seconded by Trustee Berinato the following <br />ordinance after due publication and posting according to law and section <br />~O. of the Village law of the State of New York was adopted.
